2014-2015 Manchester Monarchs - 2015 Calder Cup Champions!

Mersch!! A much better version of D.K. Mersch has hands people!! I've seen a lot of posts complaining about some Kings with no hands, but that won't be Mersch.
 
I hate to say it, but Berube's Achilles heel. A long shot? I really think he needs his eyes checked!!

The Monarchs didn't lost focus after the last goal. JF just keeping things interesting. Flubs an easy long shot but makes a number of outstanding challenging saves this game with fast reflexes.

Gotta score again, Monarchs. And again.

ETA: Shots are about 2:1. 30 Monarchs, 14 Comets.

Dowd is already 25 and though he hasn't put up huge numbers, he is solid defensively. He may get a shot just because of that. He plays like a fast Bobby Holik.

Yes. For the most part. I think he's double shifted Weal and Shore at spots on the lower lines. And, like, moves Crezzinzi over to wing and had Shore C him and Auger. He'll tweak the lineup in close games.
 
Utica on the PP with 35 seconds left in regulation. (Colin Miller, delay-of-game)

Berube makes a save with 2.3 sec left. Conacher, scrum in front of the net.

Shore gets whacked in the face. Game ends with no penalty called.

On to overtime.

Yes. I don't know how much you watch Manchester, but if you don't, you're getting it. Even though Shore can play 3C with the Kings, he does it more with his smarts! Dowd to me, has all the makings of a solid 3C. He's played well all year. I've posted it before!! He's older like you mention, but he's a pretty solid C. Good on faceoffs also. I've also posted before, and I'll say it again, with the Monarchs depth, you take Quick, Doughty, Kopitar, and Carter off the Kings, and this Monarchs team beats them. They're just that good!! They also beat about 6 NHL teams!!! imho!!!
 
This game feels A LOT like game 1 verse the Penguins. The triple OT game. Oof!


Just gotta keep playing our game (and kill this penalty).
 
My thoughts from someone that watches almost every game!

1. You haven't seen Miller! Schultz leaving early has him a little confused with the musical chairs partners.
2.Forbort, his usual solid self. Steady. Skates well. Play moves the other way.
3. Weal and Oneill will figure out this goalie, it's a long series. I guarantee it.
4. Mersch likes the front of the net, and he has hands to be there. He's a load!!
5.bods has played well, Loverde average.
6. Gravel playing very well. Only D that plays the off side. If Schultz can't play next game, look for Ebert to be paired with Forbort(Ebert right handed), Gravel moves to left side along Miller.
6. Auger!!! I've posted before Rick Nash! Very young! Tough! And, although not tonight yet, wait til you see him undress someone with his reach!! Maybe in OT?
8. Berube needs a professional eye exam, with special contacts for sports. The number of long shots that have sailed in on him this year have more to do with him not picking up the puck too well!
12. Back to game!
 
Like DL said on his latest interview, "they are fun to watch!!" I agree.
