At least Martin St Louis will fit in the beds at Sochi.

Seriously, MSL is my pick for Stamkos' replacement and I bet if Stamkos got to choose, it would be him as well.

Has to be MSL. He will slot on the RW with Sid perfectly. He deserves it based on play, position and big ice factor.

MSL is not going to be happy if he isn't even the 1st injury replacement choice. He should take Stamkos' spot.

Wish we got the chance to see Crosby passing to Stamkos all tournament, would've been something special.

Giroux or St. Louis. Please.

I don't want to watch Eric Staal sleepwalk through another international tournament.

It's between MSL, Hall, and Staal.

Kunitz-Crosby-MSL doesn't have a sniper on it. I venture to say Carter lines up with Crosby and Kunitz.

I hope Hall makes it, but MSL is most likely.

Renaud Lavoie just tweeted that last week he heard there's a "good chance" MSL will be in Sochi.

James Neal has to be the number one choice after Stamkos. He's the best Canadian pure goal scorer... behind Stamkos.

Yeah, there have really only been two guys in the NHL during Crosby's career with that kind of shot and goal scoring ability, Stamkos and Ovechkin. Stamkos is the only one who had a realistic chance of ever playing beside him, wish we got to see it. Hopefully they are both still at the top of their games 4 years from now.

Crosby and Kunitz both have 27 goals each (5th in the league), St. Louis has 25 (6th in the league). Goal scoring is not a problem with those three.

MSL or Giroux. If Staal was gonna make this team he would already be there.

One of these two and they end up playing a regular spot too not just taxi squad

You'd have to think St. Louis is the replacement right? And I am not just going by media attention or pressure. You'd think that Stamkos has the 2nd best offense on that entire team. With him gone, all of the sudden you have to find someone who can at least come close to his offense. St. Louis would fit in well with Crosby. I realize the Kunitz-Crosby-St. Louis line wouldn't have anyone big, but if they start to get pushed around a bit, change it up. All I know is that St. Louis has to be on that team somewhere. Giroux would be my next pick, but in all honesty can we see Crosby and Giroux as linemates after what they've been through?

Do the right thing, put St. Louis on the team. This is Yzerman's chance to right a wrong.

This is actually a good thing.....

Yeah, for the field!

Exactly. :(

As if I needed another reason to hate Dougie Hamilton.

I am not sure who to choose. Neal is quite a sniper but cold - Edit : I thought he was until I reviewed his stats. MSL has the back checking issue but would be great on the big ice. Giroux seems to be persona non grata in the dressing room. I am not a fan of Staal.

I wish there was an easy answer.

James Neal:

35GP - 18G - 24A - 42P, 20P in last 16GP.

Nope. In fact, it is SO close, that I would pick MSL or Giroux BEFORE Neal.

"AINEC" is so used so unreservedly on this forum, its ridiculous.

You're right. It's the most overused acronym around here... AINEC!
