Red Wings have looked like dog **** bad since the 2nd period started. I really thought they were gonna come out in this period too, but they didn't.

They have like 7 shots since the 2nd period started, and play has been in their end almost the whole time.

Howard kept them in it for as long as possible. For only so long can you stop the Hawks offense. Carcillo with an assist on that last goal

I think they'll show up eventually this series but they gotta be running on empty sooner rather than later. They had to surge just to make the playoffs then willed themselves across the finish in Anaheim and they aren't a real deep team to begin with.

Jesus the Hawks are outshooting them 40-18. I knew it had to be in the 40s by now. Sounds like the Devils only the Hawks are actually winning this game.

The Hawks just have Detroit's number this year. This is starting to remind me of 08 when the Rangers smashed our faces in during the regular season and into the playoffs. I think we beat them a combined 2 times in the season and the playoffs. We were like 2-9 against them or something god awful like that.

Except the Hawks actually 'are' that much of a better team than the Wings. The Rangers really weren't better than us, they just bullied us in the close games (always seemed as if Lundqvist entered god mode while Marty would play well but give up one softy a game) and we were weenies and wilted under their Avery-led nonsense. I mean we still finished ahead of them in the standings despite losing seven of eight in the regular season and only winning the final game in a shootout, that shouldn't have been as one-sided a year as it was.

Yeah we won our only game against them that regular season in a shootout on the last day of the season. Then we won our only game of the playoff series in OT.

Don't forget we also had pre sniper Arron Asham who couldn't really score a nice goal to bail us out ever like he does for the Rangers now.

Asham's always had a heavy shot that can find the net from time to time.

Not for nothing but it's freaking pitiful that two Original Six teams in the same conference (Rangers/Boston) went forty years between meeting in the playoffs

Not really. He had 6 goals for us in 07-08, but 2 of them were in the same game I remember, and I don't remember the others.

Come on dude lets not kid ourselves. Asham was easily our worst player that year. I know you think every Rangers is better than any Devil though.

Oh yea I agree, I think the Hawks are gonna win this series rather easily. They really lucked by playing them instead of San Jose. Detroit is probably gonna run out of gas pretty soon, they may already have. This might have been their chance to steal a game and get home ice but they imploded.

Yea that whole season series I would love to completely eliminate from my memory bank. It was frustration after frustration. The whole Avery thing was the cherry on the poop cake. Game 1 of that series was a joke when Marty held onto the puck too long and Callahan slashed it out of his glove and into the net. I knew when they scored that goal we wouldn't have a chance in that series. Actually, them celebrating after the series on our center ice, raising there sticks to the crowd was the cherry on the ass cake. Chico saying "this makes me sick" after the Ranger fans were cheering after Game 5. Holy god, EVERYTHING about that playoff series was an absolute debacle.

I actually liked Asham when he was here. Sutter for some reason didn't. Man, the list of questions or complaints I have about the Sutter era has been increasing a lot lately. I don't think its a coincidence that hes unemployed right now.

The only players on the Devils I think I disliked more than Asham in the last 10 years is probably Eric Boulton.

I think one time Asham had a penalty shot opportunity against the Ryan Miller but was stopped. That was I think the only regular season or playoff game at Prudential Center that I missed before I moved before the 11-12 season. I was down here on vacation for Christmas/New Years.
