I was gonna let someone else bring that up first, but I noticed that a while ago and laughed. It's one thing to predict the Rangers will win, but to advertise it like this?

Clearly we're playing into this, and you're just trying to get a rise out of us.

Predict the Rangers to win all you want.. but to actually want for that to happen so much that you are proud enough to put it as your avatar text is ridiculous.

Difference between being an objective hockey fan by thinking your rival will win and actually hoping for your prediction to come true..

people probably say the same of us and the "you suck" chant

I think the difference is the jumbotron tells the Kings fans when to do it.
Similar to the "Everybody clap your hands" dictation that is heard at most sporting events.

The Devils would love for the You Suck chant to stop.

Come on now, no need to delve deep into a psychology textbook here, I would be joyous if the Rags would lose this round.
Wouldn't you?

Only reason I had it there is that many of my predictions all season have been revised by other posters at times for their gain, usually all in fun-as was my avatar text. :p:

That's what I was getting at. The jumbotron needs to tell them to do it. It's much better done organically than being forced.

And agreed on the "you suck" chant. Frankly, I think we need a new goal song all together. How long has R&R Pt2 been our goal song? Besides for those couple of years where I believe we had Zombie Nation. The farthest I can date R&R Pt2 is 94. Anyone know if we used it before then? I'm only 23 so I have not a clue when it started.

Speaking of Rangers love, Homer Joe has been pretty bad this game. He's touting the Kings like they're Rangers West. He's been a little complementing of the Sharks, but more so the Kings.

Was it really necessary for him to get on the plane from DC to LA this morning?

You know how the Rangers always struggle when their fans have to always try to sell to other fans how good their players are

He doesn't stink, he scored 2 goals on when he had chicken before the game on odd numbered days bruh

Sharks power play has been absolutely pathetic this game when you think about how good it was in round 1. Looks worse than ours with Kovy out. Mostly offensive zone time, but 0 shots on goal.

Might have to wait for Henrik West to go behind the net, and cough up a freebie if they ever wanna score a PP goal this series.

So my thoughts heading into this round were PIT over OTT, NYR over BOS, CHI over DET and LAK over SJS

Quick's getting a shutout tonight. I called that in the 2nd period.

just watching robyn regehr and how much better he looks playing for the kings as opposed to when he was in buffalo. i know LA is a million times better but i still think it has to do with style of play in with respect to the game that each conference more often sees. that makes me just further maintain my thought that volch could be a much more effective player in the western conference given the game he is most suited to play. west is much more rugged as opposed to a bit more of a skill style in the east (generally speaking).

Quick is the most dominant player in the playoffs in that he is altering the opposition's play with his attributes. The opposition gets ansy and starts trying to be perfect missing tight corners instead of just naturally shooting the puck in various holes.

Exactly that. Holy crap you should know to sing song Marty. Every OTHER fanbase knows to. We didn't need prompts to sing-song Theodore last year.

I like the you suck if only it gets everyone going at once. Find a new goal song where the whole crowd chants with it I'll be game for it though

He gives up frighteningly bad rebounds. I don't think LA's play in their own end gets enough credit. They are very good in their own end. They were very good in their own end against us last year too, and that's why they beat us. I personally do not believe Quick is as vital to his team as Lundqvist is to his.

I think when you have a goaltender that is virtually unbeatable waist down east-west it makes your defensive job that much easier. Yes, their defense is superlative at guarding the net, but Quick is a machine. It's like watching an improved Mike Richter 2.0, which is saying alot because Richter was a hell of a goalie when he was on.

I don't think I've seen many bad breakdowns at all in their end the last couple playoffs. He lets out so many rebounds that are swept up too. For once I'm gonna pull a Devils Dominion, and defend the Rangers for a second. People call their system the six goalie system, but LA is pretty damn good in their own end.

But he's been without two big oak trees who do a fabulous job of clearing the crease. Matt Greene and Willie Mitchell. Needless to say, Quick keeps rolling without them. Shot totals are up from last year and he keeps repelling shots.

I'm not discrediting him at all. I think their in zone play is very good though, and doesn't get enough credit.
