I keep waiting for the Islanders to collapse but I don't think its happening. They seem legit. I think Ottawa might be the team to keep an eye on. They look like their choking and we still have another game against them.

now are all the devils fans going to unite with the islanders in their hate for rangers? once the islanders start doing this yearly, everyone is going to hate this team.

Howie Rose just had an orgasm. Kinda like calling the Matteau goal in 94. Shouldn't you be calling Mets games right now you big nose tool?

because there's no little x next to their name on NHL.com when they win tonight

I mean, you don't chant "we want the Cup" in game 1 of the first round..

No but you chant it before you actually win the cup. Every teams fans chants it after winning the conference finals.

They don't have to wait til they clinch the playoffs to chant that they want playoffs.

Amen. All this ''Devils/Isles friendship respect'' BS makes me sick. Maybe we should all go respect the Pens in our unity against the Flyers? Get the **** outta here with that POS Isles franchise. The one good thing about them being competitive is maybe the Devils will show up every god damn game against them from now on, and not this ''Don't enter the building until the 2nd or 3rd period or even at all'' crap.

I think I'd root for the Rangers over the Islanders just because it pisses of all the ''Devils/Isles friendship'' people.

They don't have to, but it's premature as is.

Like you said, you don't chant we want the cup before you're guaranteed to be going to the finals..

Anyways, bad night for us overall.
NYI wins, WSH winning, OTT/TBL tied up now and WPG winning as well.

basically every game going bad for us

Some Devils fans on here last year were hoping and wishing the Islanders would make a playoff push. It even continued into this year too. ''I hope the Isles make a push! I hope their success continues!'' Well all I have to say is you just might get your wish. Hop on the Isles bandwagon! YUCK!:rant:

lol....you and me are on the same page. i don't have as much disgust for the islanders as you do, but i never got the friendship stuff. once this team gets good, it's not going to be pretty.

lol now you're getting silly Bleed. I do think of the Isles as cousins a bit, I admit that. That doesn't mean I root for them, though I'd rather they win than the other three teams in the division. The fact is we've only had real big matchups with the Isles 'once' in 30 years (1988), that's not enough to build a rivalry. That's the real reason why there's no rivalry - and the one time we did face them we upended their ***es. We've faced the other three division teams a LOT more in the playoffs.

They have been a thorn in our *** in recent years, but until this year it hasn't really meant anything since they've consistently gone home and we've consistently gone to the playoffs regardless. This year it means something, and maybe you'll get your wish and the Isles will become more of a blood rival.

And not for nothing, but after tonight the Isles aren't really our target now. The Rangers and Ottawa have to be the target, especially considering we have head-to-head matchups with them. We had our chance and blew it in the head-to-heads with the Isles earlier in the season.

I was never a fan, but the last year or two seeing all the Devils fans hope for them to make a push really ruined it for me. Now I'm full blown hate mode on them.

I'm just a rebel to that attitude. I stray away from the norm, and I hate the notion that we have to respect them. I don't really hate them more than the Rangers or Flyers, but I might consider rooting for the Rangers over them just because it pisses people off!

Like you said, you don't chant we want the cup before you're guaranteed to be going to the finals..

So when you're 75% of the way through the playoffs it isn't premature to chant that you want to win the cup, but when your 83% of the way through the regular season and your team is in playoff position it's premature to chant that you want your team to make the playoffs. Got it.

If its not the Devils, it better be the Blue Jackets. Oddly enough, this isn't my first year feeling that way...
