The islanders fans amuse me. Finally doing something in God knows how long, and now they are coming out of the woodwork and dissing the Devils. i love it.

"the tables have turned" is their new motto against the devils.

Well, that's silly. One year of suck from us and one year of respectability from them does not erase the last twenty.

The tables have not turned in the stands yet, Isles last in the NHL in attendance again.

I would like to see the Isles get in to the playoffs at the expense of the Rangers of course.

Well they can't go in at the expense of the Rags at this point. The Jets on the other hand CAN make the playoffs at the Rags expense ;)

Yes, but at some point it's very possible.

As for us, it will be painful to see them lose again tonight, but in the long view, it will be forgotten when we are able to draft ahead of Philly this June.

I don't care about attendance. My point is that we are still historically the better team, and it's ludicrous for Isles fans to suddenly be pulling rank on us.

Maybe in five years if (and this is a big if) they have achieved consistent success and we're floundering in a post-Lou rebuild, then they'll have a point. But not yet.

In my view of it, they really can't talk until they win another cup. The majority of the people that would try to "pull rank" either weren't alive when they last one, or were at a very young age. At least, I'm going to go on the assumption that you won't have too many 40+ year olds pulling that card. That being the case, the people that are talking crap are ones who have never seen their team win one. Being the more successful team for a few year stretch is nice and all, but that's like if Rangers fans were trying to pull that card on Devils fans before last season, when the Devils hadn't gone too far in the playoffs for most of the previous decade. For Islanders and Rangers fans (and plenty of other franchises), I want to see them win something, or at the bare minimum, play for a cup, before they try smack talking a team that has been in the finals 5 times since their teams were once.

it's pretty pathetic, but i am seeing it in almost every thread. why are they so concerned with the devils of all teams? it makes no sense to me.

It's POS Scott Clemmensen. This was like a nightly ritual when he played for us. One mind numbingly soft goal per game, and usually either the obligatory BAD rebound, or the abuse of the glovehand. Somehow this HACK had a 917 save percentage with us that year. Yet he looked almost as bad as Moose did this year, and to think some people wanted him as a backup last Summer.

starting clemmensen is like putting a cardboard cutout in.

Kevin Dineen is a horrible suck ass coach, and changes goalies more than he changes his underwear. Dineen should be coaching Clemmensen in a beer league somewhere. Yet we make this horrible blimp look better than Lundqvist unless he gives up some crap goal like the ones in game 6 last year, and the one to Clarkson this year.

Remember Dineen started Clemmensen in two playoff games last year. If not for him they might eliminate us in game 6, but thanks to Crapper letting in two mind numbingly soft goals we won.
