Could Danny Kristo push for a 3rd line role this year?

Kreider Richards Nash
Hagelin Stepan MZA
Kristo Brassard Callahan
Haley Boyle Dorsett

rangers trade christian thomas to mtl for danny kristo who is a littlle bigger fast and can score, just finished his 4th year at north dakota and was a finalist for hobey baker, love this trade

Miller will also be pushing for a bottom six role I'd really like to acquire one more top 6 player somehow...

Holmgren continue to impress. :handclap:

First of all, picking up Streit on a +35 contract is so risky that I cannot believe that they where willing to do it. Just reckless IMO. Streit is still a very good PMD, but that doesn't make up for their risk.

Second of all, Lecavalier is a really solid centericemen with good size, he is strong on FO's, he is still really good on the PP, and what not. Getting him for 4.5m per and 5 years (he is only 33 y/o) is a steal.

And at the bottom line, they have definitely improved their team greatly for next season. Their PP will be top notch. Streit, Timmonen, Grossman, Coburn, Schenn and Gustafsson is a solid blueline. Their goalie position is as always weak.

If Streit is hurt long term, they might as well close shop with 10m dead cap space on the roster, taking that risk is beyond stupid. But nobody can argue that they aren't improved...

Since we're in the business of reuniting people lately (Falk w/Bickel, Kristo w/Stepan and Kreider), maybe we can reunite Nodl with Powe?

Nah... stupid thought.

Miller or Kristo could compete for that 3rd line LW position. Andrew Yogan could possibly compete for the 4th line LW spot with Haley. Trade Pyatt and Powe just to free up 2.5 mil and some picks.

You're not really freeing up much space there. If Miller and Yogan make the team, that's about $2m in cap space taken up right there. Of course, both are bonused and some of that can be kicked down the road, but the point remains. Trading Pyatt and Powe doesn't free up much more than roster spots.

kristo plays rw but would love to see him in the lineup he can really skate

If Yogan and Miller can play... that is an upgrade over Powe and Pyatt.. why would you keep them?

I don't think young guys like Yogan and Miller should be playing 5 minutes a night. Let them play 18 in Hartford until a spot opens up where they can play at least 10 minutes. I feel Miller will make the third line this season, though.

I don't think I will ever understand what Holmgren is thinking.

I like Vinny, and would welcome him on the right deal. No idea how the Flyers think giving a 33 y/o a 5 yr deal with a full NMC while they still have Steve Mason and an AHL D is a good idea.

Montreal fans said that Kristo was pretty lost in his 9 game stint in the AHL last season. Not sure he's ready for Broadway just yet.

I'm not understanding this on capgeek, does it glitch sometimes? For instance there was 2,905,833 in cap space before I recalled Miller at 1.2m and it still had 2,186,877? Did it everytime I would recall Miller

He had just finished playing in the NCAA and it's a pretty big adjustment to the AHL and a new team. I wouldn't worry too much about it. We'll get to judge for ourselves in a few months.

There a button next to the player's name that you have to click to include his cap hit. It doesn't automatically adjust the cap total when you enter the amount or tab out.

Edit: Sorry, misunderstood your question. That's because part of Miller's cap hit is bonus. You are using the bonus cushion, so the bonus is still considered available cap space.

And I don't understand the need for Lecavalier, either.

Giroux
Schenn
Couturier

Thats insane depth down the middle going forward. As they mature that is really strong depth.

Are they permanently putting Schenn on the wing? I'd rather have him in the middle.

Think they're moving Schenn to wing. Or may move Couturier for Ryan or package for a top pair dman. Still think Holmer has some splashes to make July 5th and beyond.

they'll probably trade Coburn for another foward.. Flyers are terrified of defensemen.

Philadelphia doesn't have a plan. What they're doing right now is the personnel equivalent of throwing darts over their shoulder in the belief that the random combination of players would give them a better chance to win than if they built the team based on their own judgement. And you know what? It's probably the right plan. It took humility, but they did it.
