Let's just trade Staal, DZ, Miller, Kreider, and anyone short of Stepan, McD, and Henrik and see what we can get.

We MUST trade our vets eventually for cap relief.
The idea should be to get top return for them incl as to futures.

We get improved cap, we have greater flexibility for trades.

More than anything else, what I think the Rangers should do at this point is focus on the RFAs and wait until we get towards the middle of July, late July, when you just know there is going to be some 3rd line forward without a deal yet. It happens pretty much every off-season.

NHL Network just said that this draft will be just as good as 2003.. great job Sather....

We better not go short-term on McDonagh or Stepan so we have room for Levavalier.

Hahaha, I am all for it! Wouldn't a all be suprised if Slats called Vinnys agent and asked if Vinny was interested to come to NY and Vinny goes "I am not coming if you buy BR out" and Slats instantly goes "Of course not, we want you both" (like he said about Doan when nobody could figure out how we would fit him under the cap).

I mean seriously, for like 4-4.5m per, I'd definitely take him. We need help on the PP. We need skill. Lecavalier can be a good 2 and a great 3 on a great team for 4-5 more years. He would really fit well with so many wingers on this team from Kreider to Zucc to Nash to Callahan and so forth.

Chicago had like 8 centers in their top 12. Having too many centers is rarely a problem.

I would have no problems whatsoever with this lineup, in fact I would love it:
Kreider-Richards-Nash
Brass-Lecavalier-Zucc
Hagelin-Stepan-Callahan
Dorsett-Lindberg-Boyle

PP1
-------------------Nash------
-------------NET-------------
--Cally----------------Lecav
--------------------------------
-----McD----------------------
---------------------Brad R---

PP2
---------------------------------
-------------NET--------------
------------Kreider------------
Stepan-------------Brassard
---------------------------------
------MDZ-----------Zucc---

So do we agree that with McD, Staal, DZ, Moore none of those guys will move to RD?

Meaning they likely deal DZ or Staal and bring in another RD? UFA FA are blah and will likely be over paid so I prefer a trade

I will be interested to see if Carolina makes a push for Marc now. Again I want Faulk back in any deal PLUS. yea the 5th overall is asking alot but other picks and a good prospect is not.

Marc should be worth what Jordan was

AV probably minds less about moving Ds to their off side.

The big problem from my point of view though is that we don't have an offensive punch from the right side of the blueline. That is essential for a left handed playmaker to have when coming out of the corner on the right side of the ice, which they so often does.

We don't get that from moving one D. Our balance is also just a bit off. A 3rd pairing never wins you anything. They don't play any of "the" important shifts etc. MDZ is too valuble for a 3rd pairing for example.

I like MPS +7th.

Ola, what's the scouting report on MPS? Does he have the legit offensive instincts and IQ to develop into a legit top-6er?

Yes, definitely legit top 6.

There is nothing wrong with his Hockey-IQ, much more advanced game than Kreider for example.

His downside is that he doesn't have a snipers shot nor is a great playmaker, hence he doesn't have franchise potential really. But everything else is there. Plays great in traffic. Takes the puck really hard to the net.

At least the Rangers have no chance of drafting the 2013 version of Jessiman... would have been a nice way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of that pick :help::laugh:

Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline 13m

Told #CBJ have had talks with #STLBlues about a trade that would involve David Perron. #CBJ GM Jarmo Kekalainen will not comment.
Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline 5m

Do not know what #CBJ would be parting w to acquire Perron, but #STLBlues do not own a first-round draft pick. #CBJ has three.
Would be great for CBJ. Perron-Anisimov-Gaborik would be a nasty line.

The day MDZ gets traded would be a very sad one for me.... PMDs are rare in this league. IMO, he still has more to show in his game, and I think AV will incubate his offensive game, which stagnated under Torts.

Instead of trading MDZ, AV should help him become comfortable on the right side.

Our PP would help because of more one timers and our defense would be stacked.

McD - MDZ
Staal - Girardi
Moore - Stralman

Very good d corps.

Getting MDZ comfortable on the RH should be 1st priority IMO.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would much rather keep MDZ and play him on the RH than trade him. His game will improve under AV too IMO.

If he maintains/ improves his game, I would absolutely be willing to pay MDZ $3M+ his next contract.

Get better soon MDZ. **** sports hernias.

Would lol if CBJ trades #19 for Perron. That overall hauls them Dubinsky, Anisimov, Perron and Erixon. That's a return only superstars would get. 3 cost friendly 2nd line players and a top prospect. CBJ would make out like bandits.

That's the Teflon GM for ya! They're still trying to wake him from his slumber to prepare for the draft tomorrow!

Please tell me this isn't becoming a thing. I really hope it's a Teflon moniker.

Two cost friendly 2nd liners on their first line and an overpaid 3rd liner.
