Maybe he doesn't like the teams that want his services. Maybe he wants to move around the league.

So Weiss signs a 1-2 year deal because he doesn't like any of the teams offering him contracts, and he does so hoping that in 2 more years there will be more desirable markets..

Yea. Makes total sense. Stuff like this happens every summer.

I agree w this but don't think both nystrom and lapiere fit cap wise, replace miller w zuc and nystrom w asham or powe

Powe and Pyatt will be gone in the perfect scenario. I have Asham as the 13th forward. What about Haley as the 4th LW? With Lappy and Dorsett.

I know alot want them gone but I really dont think they are a problem as the 12/13 F

Honestly what did Asham do that everyone wants him booted so bad? He makes one million a yr for only one more yr and he scored some big playoff goals. He can fight.

Powe is fine as a spare and a PK option. he's cheap too. I just dont see them spending money on 4th liners with this cap.

Haley has a one way deal so throw him in the mix there too sure. Lapierre and Dorsett would already be making 1.5 ish likely as 4th liners

Reports saying Sather and Nonis having a private converstion outside of GM meetings. Bozak's rights? What about Franson? Big right handed defenseman who is RFA.

He didn't even break 20 points in the AHL last season.

In his first pro season he had 19 points in 43 games and was a plus player. Hes a big power type of player who grinds. He is never going to be a big scorer at the pro level. So what is your point?

I don't dislike Asham. I like him as a 12/13th forward. Powe has ZERO offense to his game, at least Asham can put the puck in the net when he has the chance like we saw.

He needs another year I think.

Dealio.......Tanguay and Sarich for Jones and O'Brien.........Flames are terrible at making deals:laugh:

Glad this was not the Rangers though. No need for Tanguay. He's a little overrated

I have no problems with Asham going around again, but if there isn't someone in the org who can replace Powe, even as 13th fwd, we have big problems

I saw the trade and started laughing.

Feaster is officially the dumbest GM in the league.

What a fool.

Lecavaleir bought out

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/9428038/tampa-bay-lightning-buy-vincent-lecavalier-deal

wow, that was a lot of money but can't say I'm surprised. Would have been an interesting discussion if Torts was still our coach. What do you guys all think he is actually worth per annum?

edit
2013 - 0.82 ppg
2012 - 0.77 ppg
2011 - 0.83 ppg
2010 - 0.85 ppg

I'd say he's still good for 65 points a season. That's decent for a #2 center. Does MTL still have a hard on for Vinny?

edit2

late to the party as usuall -___-

Feasted would be a perfect GM here for the fans. Thinks he won because he got younger and added size.

Bozak would be pretty typical.

Do you mean that as a positive or negative?

I can understand the negatives, depending on what we would give up, if it were a lot. But, Bozak would be a good third line center behind Stepan and Brassard. And a deal for Bozak could mean Richards getting bought out. Which would be a huge positive on its own.

He's a UFA so you'd have to assume trading for his rights wouldn't be too costly. Bozak isn't as high profile as Weiss, Lecavalier, and Richards if he get bought out. So maybe his contract won't be as high.

Just thinking aloud.

Certainly could be worse options. Like keeping Richards.

Edit: Looking at capgeek he's listed as a UFA. That's what im going by.

Great trade for Avs. Im pumped to see Taungay back in the Avs uni. I think they will have a really good season with Roy as the coach.

Thank you for reminding as to his track record showing some scoring success.
He doesnt have to be a mega scorer, just enough points relative to his line, and some additional contribution, more about being part of the solution than part of the problem.

He has the size and enough strength.
I don't think he's got GREAT ability but he has enough.

He seems to lose motivation. But if he really felt he honestly had a real chance to win at least 4C, I think he'd open eyes and make a race of it.
