USA with Hughes, Eichel, Matthews, Werenski, Fox, Hellebuyck, Tkachuk...
Centers:
McDavid > Matthews
MacKinnon > Eichel
Crosby > Hughes
Point > Larkin
Wingers are pretty even, maybe a slight edge to the States with the Tkachuks.

This tournament showed that goaltending doesn’t really matter.

The only real area where the US has an advantage is on defence and Canada is not that FAR behind. You have to remeber this is Canada at it’s weakest with piss poor Canadian drafting from 2016-2019. Those are also conveniently, the USA’s strongest drafting years ever.

If the Americans can’t bridge the gap now, they’re in trouble because Canada’s future is looking BRIGHT with Bedard, Fantilli, Celebrini, DuPont, McKenna paired with Makar, McDavid, MacKinnon.

Hellebuyck best GK in the World, Hughes best offensive defender, Matthews best scorer, more physical American team.

In any case in the two matches, Canada did not show its superiority over USA. The overtime victory came down to 4 big saves from Binnington.
They lost the final lol what are you even going on about? They won a round robin game....and then lost the finals. The American way.

The 40 year olds will have kids that will go through the superior canadian hockey system
Is women having kids over 40 a big thing now? I remember being done and out of the question by 40. I recall reading the risks associated to both mom and baby go up at lot around then, but that was a while ago.

And besides that, less physical team, much weaker goalkeepers, wingers not crazy, defenders not better

USA is very close to Canada. 10 years ago, USA was very far away and even more so before then. But as already said 10X, it is in a future perspective, there will necessarily be a level crossover. I was listening to Radio Canada Sports, they were talking about this inevitable moment.

The players of the 2000s you don't know what they will be worth. At 4 Nations, there were only 2 and they weren't the most expected guys (Jarvis, Harley). Bedard has already gone from generational to Jack Hughes like. Fantilli isn't crazy either. Cooley eats him. Celebrini is very promising. McKenna and Dupont aren't even drafted and we don't know if they will be better than the best Americans.

And it’s especially after the 2010 generation that I wonder. I haven't noticed any very strong Canadian players besides the enygmatic Liam Tep. 7 years ago, I would have already told you about Wright, Savoie, Bedard, Roobroeck, McKenna, Misa for the O10-U15 players. I don't see any there. Very few Canadians after Maddox Schultz in my notifications. Lots of Americans. Lots of Europeans. And yet until then, it was the Canadians who revealed themselves before the others.

Canada doesnt need to raise its level in hockey, it will maintain its dominance. The hockey training program is the best in the world and immigrant population will only help it.

And yes, immigrants has already helped canada become a lot stronger in soccer and basketball. Just like France would have become irrelevant without mbappe. Ah yes, 1998 french world cup, did you consider Henry as non-euro immigrant?
I am not sure on this one.

As someone is Sports Illustrated once said, "In hockey, Canada jumps ahead and the rest of the world catches up, then Canada jumps ahead again". I think we are about to jump ahead.

I agree, we need LOTS of immigrant and we need them playing hockey.

Everybody, listen and learn because a random Frenchman is quoting EA SPORTS NHL stats, 8 year old atom tournaments, and fantasy drafts. It’s a clear sign of Canada’s decline. Never mind the only one loss in a best on best tournament in the 21st century, never mind the historic run of first overall talent, never mind the absolute rings that Canada is running around the world at WHC 17 and winning the u18s with a B teams, it’s all coming to an end because a video game told him so.

On sent bien le seum du nationaliste canadien à la carrière hockey insignifiante.

Just a statistic : 520 000 U18 Canadian players 15 years ago
340 000 U18 Canadian players currently

Source : Hockey Canada

USA is currently at its historic peak of U18 licensees with 389,000

Source : Hockey USA

We'll talk about it again in 15 years
