We simply have to have a better team this year how long do u guys think King will put up with a dreadful offense?
We'll find out when we hear his contract requst

That's what I'd imagine he'll get.Why do you say 4 year deal?
One more season until he leaves as a FA.
Tick Tock.

Better than having a dreadful defense
our great defense has gotten us nowhere, outside of 1 year.
Sadly starting to side with this. A really good D gets us nowhere when there's no O
I think Slats might go the trade route this off season (especially if we dont buy out Richards). The question is who is available from the Rangers in trades.
I just dont think Lecavalier is going to get as much as some think, call me crazy. He's already making bank and he doesnt even have to play technically.
It's all about balance.
need to be able to score close to 3 goals a game while giving up just over 2 goals a game.
We are barely matching what we score to what we give up.
Sather and the Rangers brass are meeting with Newport tonight regarding Lundqvist. They also represent Richards. Girardi and Zuccarello too. The smart move is buying Richards out like TB did with Vinny. Sather doesn't always make the "smart move". He has been running this organization for 13 years. There are kids graduating from the 8th grade this week who were born when Sather became Rangers boss. The Rangers have had one good year in those 13. Take away the 04-05 lockout year.
Get rid of him.
so looks like the Rangers are planning on waiting to see who they can get in Free Agency since they can talk to the UFAs early.
so if they have a cheaper deal with Vinny L, Weiss, a guy that can replace Richards then they buy him out and get that player.
If not they may keep Ricahrds and risk it for a yr.
Boyle, Pyatt, Asham, Powe, who knows Hagelin could be traded in a package for a better winger, Del Zotto, Staal, Stralman, Girardi. Not saying those dmen will move but they would all be before McDonagh and Moore.
If Barkov is at that spot, I would do it. Hedman is a #1 dman.
Make one conditional upon re-signing? What do you think is fair? Just a 3rd?
Barkov over Jones?
I was considering an exception for McKinnon, but Barkov, while excellent.... those righty D are scarce now.
Prefer the D lineup I suggested,
tentatively, w/out any pickups, etc., or further effort to add a higher C, your immediate pivots are
Brassard
Miller
Lindberg
Boyle
Haley
Yogan likely to push Boyle.
so why not Jones?
Or did you expect it was certain we could pick up the 5th for Marc Staal and then with Jones, forget Faulk, just use the 5th overall on Barkov? Would he be there at 5?
2nd and a prospect like Lindberg or Hrivik is the max I'd go.
Girardi is about as safe as anyone else since he's one of our only two RHD and a top defensemen.(and plz lets not turn this into a Girardi debate guys)
Explore a trade for Bolland. Trade Boyle. Sign Lapierre. Buyout Richards. Sign Vinny Lecav
I'd love for us to somehow Get our hands on Wayne Simmonds..
He'd be a good fit..
