Always being injured is just as bad as under-performing, which in the case of Ryane Clowe, he's been doing both this past season. That led to his trade. 3 concussions in a shortened season? Yikes.

Yeah. Crosby is **** too.

He had a concussion. That doesn't make him injury prone

Crosby isn't a 30 year old 20 goal scorer who reportedly wanted an 8 year, 40 million dollar contract.

I dont understand how they can possibly keep richards, the need for cap space, his horrible long term contract, him underperforming and the chance he gets injured you just cant. Like the guy but it time to move on. I also think we have to move on from clowe as he isnt worth another 2nd which was a terrible trade even if he was healthy, we need speed! Move mdz for someone who can score and be creative with the puck and sign a stay at home defensive rhd.

The logic of keeping Richards, is that he's a better keep at 6 million for next year than any possible UFA we could sign. Next year, he'll be bought out unless he throws up a 90 point season, but I think they will be willing to risk a big injury, for the benefit of having a possibly revived Brad for one more season paid by money they'll have to pay him anyways.

He isn't depriving us of signing our free agents, and if he does, he'll be gone in a snap.

I feel like if they can get Clowe relatively cheap on a 1 year deal and hold onto Richards theyll have two decent vets trying to have bounce back years, with a new coach, full camp in essentially "walk" years for both of them.

Might not be the worst considering they are both good playoff performers (giving them mulligans for last season of course) and considering there most likey wont be too much the Rangers can do in the offseason as far as bringing in new impact players.

That means nothing in a tiny sample size with now 3 more head injuries.

the question was how do i know he can put up 40 points next year. there has been nothing to suggest that he does not have the skill to put up 40+. the only reason Ryane Clowe may not score 40+ points next year would be if he does not play enough games due to injury. if Clowe plays a good amount of games he will break 40 points.

if he's healthy they will sign him, end of story.. we need someone with his size and presence.. please dont tell me torres bc hes not coming here ad doesnt bring the same stuff clowe does... also bickel will prob resign with chi theyve been in talks... clowe is worth the risk.. if we do 2yr-4m or 3yr-3.5aav is well worth the risk.. he brings a lot and we dont realistically know his terms.. remember he waived his NTC to come here, and passed over many teams..

Dont you think an injury is too big if a risk? That contract would haunt us for 6 years

Why does this team need size? Most overrated trait in hockey IMO.

I can see short term for Clowe. Short term being 3 years, though. He'll want some security. I would ideally like 3 mil 2 years. I'd be ok with 3.5 for 3 years.

Kreider Brassard Nash
Hagelin Stepan Callahan
Clowe Lindberg Miller
Pyatt Boyle Dorsett

I like it. Just hope Kreider is ready for first line he duties. That and id prefer to move Pyatt and sign Nystrom for the 4th line LW spot.

Think that would be a very effective 4th line.

Would move Asham and Powe, have Pyatt as 13th and sign Nystrom sounds good to me. I think under a new coach giving Kreider a ton of offensive starts will be good for him.

Yes. Miller has proven he is ready and has the whole package, Zucc is a one trick pony.

I see the opposite. Miller was sent down because he wasn't ready.

Zucc was kept because he has shown a huge improvement.

zucc's arrival completely changed this team. miller is like a bakery, full of turnovers. this team does not need miller, at least not right now. zucc helps them much more than miller in all aspects of the game.

That's what you took away from it? I know can think more critically than that. It's pretty obvious that his point was that dismissing someone outright purely because of some injury history is ridiculous.

I think he proved he could play in this league, I guess that is just my opinion though. He showed great poise for being a 19 or 20 yr old in the best league in the world. He has good size, he plays a two way game, has a bit of a physical element to his game, I think we will see it more when he gets stronger.

MUCH rather move Pyatt than Asham. Asham I like....

he showed overconfidence and no defensive awareness. i like miller, he will be a good player but he is not ready.

Hopefully Miller will back me up and prove all of you wrong, since nobody thinks he can play in the league next year.

Who knows, we could see Kreider, Miller, Lindberg all start the season in Hartford. And then we can watch Sather overpay Horton, Bickell, etc..
