You'll win a lot more playoff games with a Kreider or Miller playing 15 minutes a game than a Zuccarello.

Regardless of what he tops out as, he'll be a serviceable 3rd line center if nothing else.

I like the kid. Were we to get him, it'd redeem for that awful McIlrath pick.

I like him too, just think he'd be redundant unless he switches to wing. I do think he's played left wing before, I could see him developed into an Alex Tanguay like player there if developed correctly.

I wanted Tarasenko in 2010 but nothing will change what we have now. I do think Mac would be an upgrade over Eminger next season. He brings snarl to the blueline that's been missing since Sauer got concussed. However, If the knee injury really set him back and/or he didn't progress as much as a lot had hoped this season, it might be time to cut losses.

Really tough call.

Burmistrov was 2nd in Raw Corsi numbers with the Jets behind Ladd. Puck possession phenom. Detroit will probably snag him and have next heir to Datsyuk. He's pretty much everything you want from a young player except put puck in back of the net. I suspect that may change with his talent level and scoring prowess.

I like Hagelin a lot, but he shouldn't be playing top 6 minutes next year.

Nobody cares if Zuccarello was good against a soft, Capital team. You need tough forwards in the playoffs. Zuccarello is too small and weak. A blind person could see it. You don't win with players who are nice guys but can't win battles in the corners.

Zuccarello wins more puck battles than Nash, Clowe and Callahan.

what zucc are you watching? the mats zuccarello that everyone else sees is anything but soft.

The only moves that should be made this offseason are:

Buyout Richards
Fire Torts
Fire Sather

Hire Tippett
Hire someone that knows how to evaluate draft talent as a GM.

Agreed. He's a 3rd liner that can be bounced up and down the lineup if injuries happen, but shouldn't be playing top 6 minutes consistently.

Really hope Kreider comes into camp next season ready to quiet the haters and give a big middle finger to them so this can be avoided.

Sorry, had too.

Also, can't help but to laugh at all of the proposals to hire Dave Tippett in lieu of Torts.

Guess what? He's the same coach that brought a Phoenix Coyotes team bereft of offensive talent to the conference finals last year the same way the Rangers did. They grinded out wins and collapsed in front of Mike Smith, whom in my opinion was the best goalie in the 2012 playoffs, even over Quick.

It'd be the same song and dance; collapsing in front of Hank, 5 guys below the hashmarks when the puck is behind our red line, and a 1-4 neutral zone trap.

In short: No Thanks.

whats the deal with babcock? some people were talking about him a while ago.

people were also talking about laviolette (any possibility there?)

boucher is available right?

im not exactly an expert on coaches but im sure someone on here has some knowledge. any up and coming coaches look promising?

I think Gagner is a more reasonable target than Hall, Yakupov, or Eberle. He'd replace Richards and give us three fifty point pivots (Give or take) to rotate, which is pretty formidable.

Hall will be a 6 mil cap hit starting next year. Yakupov? I don't know if Sather would trade big for a Russian with Tortorella at the helm. MPS? Looking more like Freddie Sjostrom at this point than Alffie.

I like Gagner, but then we'd have three 5'11 centers occupying our top-9.

I think we could use a little more size.

I wonder if we could acquire Patrik Berglund from St. Luois....

I would Fire Torts and Sather...promote Groton..since it is his team that is going to sweep us tomorrow.

I would look @ these free agents...most I have already indicated in the past:

Stralberg and Bickell from Hawks...both big men with some skill.

Patrick Bordeleau...goon from AV's...as Thornton has showed us...there is still a role and this guy seems like he can at least skate.

Ryne O'Byrne....just in case McILrath isn't ready...who ever said McILrath is a bad pick does not understand hockey @ all.

Tyler Bozak...good center...still YOUNG.

Anthony Stewart...has size...not sure he is any good though.

Brunner from Wings...not big but has talent.

Adam Cracknell...big boy.

Max Lapierre...not a huge fan but effective.

Raffi Torres...old and has baggage but would love him or someone like him on our team.

Ryan Hamilton...extra dmen who has size and snarl.

Latrendresse...health issues but a big boy with skill.

Matt Pelech...same as Hamilton...younger.

Tom Sestito...ultimate ******.

Mason Raymond...has skill

Trade Del Zotto to Kings for Derek Forbort and Jordan Nolan or Sens for Gryba or Wiercioch or Cody Ceci and David Dziurzynski and a pick.

Buy out Redden, I mean Holik, wait, it's Drury or is it Gomez...no, its the piece of ****, Richards...the guy who 80% of this board said would be great for us.

Yakupov is looking like a 40 goal scorer in the making. Gagner would give us three short centers. There's a reason Edmonton is looking for a tall, gritty centerman to take Gagner's spot.

I actually do like Mason Raymond as a free agent...could probably get him for like $2.5M-$3M. He's a player in the mold of Hagelin, but he's a bit better of a finisher. More of a second line winger.
