GDT: Four Nations Face-Off

He sits 15th amongst Canadian forwards PPG and is 12th in Goals and top 10 amongst Canadian Forwards in Goals per game. Those are damn good numbers
and people are letting their hate of the Leafs completely take over evaluating
is play. He was considered for the team and keeps his play up will be considered next year.

Well I don't hate the Leafs, so you can drop that theory at least when it comes to me.

He didn't make the team at age 34, can't foresee him on the team at age 35. And they do look at things when guys perform in the World Championships as a factor and he did perform very well in last year's Worlds (11 pts.)

And still didn't make the 4 Nations team.

And Tavares's hasn't regressed? Give me a break.

I said in my last post that we'll see if Marchand makes it next year. I never said it was a guarantee.

Johnston already has broken out, I thought he had a chance to make it this year but he got off to a slow start. If you want to say there is a chance Bedard or Johnston make it over Marchand, I hear you. Handiness and position will come into play, they aren't taking 11 right-shot forwards.

But quite frankly I find your take on John Tavares to be bizarre.
I watch many Leafs games, JT has regressed significantly in the last 2-3 years.
He no longer has the skating speed to keep up with today's game.
He is a good leader, works hard, great on faceoffs.
Plays center, no way he can play LW on Team Canada too slow.
Taveras is a -26 for this career.....Marchand is PLUS 285.
Enough said.

They were good but the US, at least on paper, is better and they are more physical .

I'll be interested to see how their forward group works out. 10 of the 12 guys are lefties and their entire RW position is guys playing their off-wing.

If I'm the opposing coach, I'm targeting their right side in the offensive zone knowing whatever winger is on that side will need that extra half second on break-outs.
