I don't believe a second of it. 9/3 is an awful contract offer.
Must've missed the "the term and contract weren't the issue" and it was because of "external factors" he signed in Philly.
Meaning he DIDN'T WANT TO COME HERE.

Ottawa is much better.People here are funny.
The only team who got SIGNIFICANTLY better is Detroit, adding Weiss AND Alfredsson.
Boston lost Jagr, Seguin, Peverley and Horton. Added Eriksson.
Ottawa lost Alfredsson and Silfverberg. Added Ryan and MacArthur.
Toronto lost MacArthur and Grabovski. Added Clarkson, Bolland and Bernier.
Buffalo did **** all.
TB added Filpulla, lost Lecavalier.
Florida did **** all.
We lost Ryder. Added Briere.
All in all, nobody got SIGNIFICANTLY better.
Ottawa got better offensively, but not all that dramatically.
Toronto lost some offense in detriment to physicality.
Boston lost TONS of depth.
TB might have lost offense.
Excuse me for posting on a hockey forum during the number 1 activity day in the NHL.
Sounds like Bergy is standing pat.
I actually like MBs answer about the price to pay for size. It's tough. Obviously other GMs know we need it, it's pretty hard not to get bent over. Not too mention it's also hard to find a team willing to trade a reliable top6 player with size.
"we need to trade half our team for big skilled players" -Bergevin
I didn't know Ottawa gutted half their team for talent.
Matt hendricks at less Money than danny briere (1.85 for 4 years)
So he goes for players with no size and no skill left like Briere and Parros.
I don't believe a second of it. 9/3 is an awful contract offer.
Stats in playoffs important while considering Briere. Again, really focused on the fact he's respected and loved in Philly.
Probably, although we would save 4 millions in cap space for the trade deadline and if Latendresse could stay healthy, it wouldn't be such a downgrade.
I just think Gionta's the odd man out with the Brière signing. I'm ready to give a second chance to DD, and Gallagher is awesome.
Same **** every year. The price is always too high to get big players and we had to go for leftovers midget. Yet other team still pay those price and remain competitive years after year. With our current line up, no way we could be dreaming at a cup for the next 3-4 years.
When are we gonna be a good team, with a good core and a good balanced of skill, grit and size? In the last 10-15 years, the management refuses to address that need like the Flyers refusing to build their team from the back-end.
There's the c-word again.
Ottawa is much better.
Toronto is better.
Boston is probably better in the short term, though Horton is a loss he's never healthy anyway.
Who cares about the others?

I'm in a great mood, I just like posting here with my e-friends and commiserating in the agony of being a Habs fan.Wasn't 100% directed at you, but your whining is more comical than anything, especially based on the assumption you've ACTUALLY worked yourself up to get that angry. Unless this is all a facade and you're just pretending to be this angry. Lighten up pal. This has nothing to do with you. Let's wait until hockey is played. Our place as fans is to watch it. We can discuss trades and moves, yeah, but guys like you getting this upset are hilarious.
It's far more likely that the agent says that than go out and admit that his client just wanted more money right after he got 30mil in buyout cash. I remain convinced that the Habs should've aggressively targeted Lecavalier and gave him a competitive offer.Must've missed the "the term and contract weren't the issue" and it was because of "external factors" he signed in Philly.

I think MB was talking about top6 players. Something Hendricks is not. I wouldn't mind him though to be fair.
