The current set up sees the non-playoff teams pick #1-#14. The lottery winner gets the #1. Previously, the lottery winner could move up 4 points so only the top 5 teams had a realistic shot at #1. The odds are against the #14 team from winning the lottery. Florida is #1. They have a 25% chance of winning the lottery. The division winners are ranked #25-#30. Then its re-set again with the 4 conference finalists picking #27-#30.

Wonder if the Rangers have gotten a solid look at Valentin Zykov. Plays for Baie-Comeau, which, for those who didn't know, is the same team Sam Noreau plays for.

Wicked shot with a great release, and is incredibly hard to knock off the puck. Needs some consistency, but I really like the tools he brings. Reminds me a bit of Alex Frolov in the way he skates (good top-end, but first steps need work) and can hold the puck forever.

Hopefully the "Russian factor" could push him low enough that we could move up and nab him.

Petan would be an interesting look for the 2nd round. Must be well scouted playing with Jones and Rattie.

Lotto was tonight. Here's how it shook out...

1) Avs
2) Panthers
3) Lightning
4) Preds
5) Canes
6) Flames
7) Oil
8) Sabres
9) Devs
10) Stars
11) Flyers
12) Yotes
13) Jets
14) Jackets

How low would that have to be? He's rated the #7 North American skater..

http://sudburywolves.com/article/kantor-dodero-to-hartford

The New York Rangers and the Sudbury Wolves have developed a hockey connection of late with former Wolves' star defenceman MARC STAAL being drafted by the Rangers back in 2005. Last summer, the Rangers hired Wolves' assistant coach JEFF BEUKEBOOM. And now, the Rangers have offered pro contracts to the Wolves' graduates MICHAEL KANTOR and CHARLIE DODERO.

so it looks like Dodero will get a NHL contract once contract space is gained....

Glen Sather better sign Myles Bell. The end.

Just to note this Swiss team was reallyt tough and were also led by two strong outings by goalies Reto Berra and the ageless Martin Gerber. It was an awesome tournament nonetheless. :yo:

Edit: I'm pretty sure that these players listed don't have any NHL rights to them, but if there are I apologize in advance because this was a rushed post ahaha.

After watching Ambuhl at the worlds, I'm just wondering how he didn't manage to stick in the NHL with the Rangers. I don't remember how he was utilized in Hartford, was he on the 1st-2nd line or 3rd-4th line?

I don't understand how this guy is not in the NHL.

Supposedly Vancouver is letting Lapierre go to FA, should take a look at him, hed be a great depth signing

For the 4th line absolutely. As weak as our bottom 6 looked at times this year, we're going to have a logjam of them next season. Kreider, Miller, Boyle, Dorsett, Asham are basically locks. Lindberg, Fast, Hrivik, Yogan, and even Bourque will probably get looks too.

Well some players dont want to play in the AHL, and some also dont wanna do whatever it takes to make the NHL. for an older rookie he was ok at the AHL level.. wasnt shocked the NYR let him go like Jamtin. it is a shame some of the euro players dont want to stay here and try to make the NHL.

Jamtin as not a very good hockey player. Ambuhl could have had a shot as a bottom 6 NHLer, but didn't wait around. I'm pretty sure Jamtin was allowed to leave halfway through the season once both parties had acknowledged he wasn't nearly good enough.

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=152763 this guy should get looks from NHL teams this offseason. Big breakout year in the SEL as a 20 year old.

Is he still draft eligible?

He's draft eligible this year. No idea where he's going to go though? Pure speculation, 3rd round. Maybe someone snatches him in the 2nd. Scouts for Redline, ISS seem to think his history will hurt his chances of going sooner.

Anyone watching the CHL playoffs lately?

Lots of interesting names still playing, many 2013 draft eligible prospects, UFA's and already drafted players as well as NYR signed Josh Nicholls.
