He just like to point out EVERY SINGLE YEAR Lombardi can't sign the top free agents, no matter what the circumstance are . We have zero cap space and he knows it, yet he'll blame Lombardi because he didn't land a big fish. He'll post something later on saying how LA could've sign player x, throw in a few jabs, then post something else a few weeks later saying Lombardi was so smart not to do it. It's quite comical.

well i notice in life alot of people like to talk behind each others back and spread stories and rumours about other people. I tend not to like that type of rumour yet it happens every day 100 times a day. Point being rumours are apart of our life and i get to choose what kinda rumour i listen to. I prefer to listen to stuff that happens or could happen in my favourite sport. It gives me something else to think about then try and figure out who will be the lw on the 2nd line the kings only weekness. As far as creibility hes only saying what hes hearing at the time. Life changes fast and what he hears changes from hour to hour based on other real life stuff. I have no issues with that. I like hearing whats going on even if it changes the second he posts it.

I doubt there's a team out there who would take Stoll after he just had a seizure. That took him from the realm of DL wouldn't trade him to DL can't trade him. And the package would have to be a hell of a lot more than that. They'd want Voynov.
Would you take Hecht and Grigorenko for Kopitar or Doughty?
Hypothetically, I'd like to have Vanek-Lokti-Nash as our first line and dress Crosby on our fourth line.
I don't get why Vanek even needs to be brought up. We have zero cap space for a big name. That has been beaten like a dead Logan Couture on this board and yet we still want to indulge in fantasy land. I can't be the only one who doesn't see the point in even bringing up non realistic scenarios, no?

There's not a single signing in which I looked at the contract and said, damn, I wish Lombardi pulled that off. Matt Barry's an idiot if he thinks Lombardi did something wrong today. Alfredsson or Iginla? Couldn't afford them. Clowe, Ryder, Stalberg, and Cooke aren't that great of players, that Clarkson contract is going to be the butt of every joke in two years (think Leino), and Horton's an injury risk which we have plenty enough as it is. Didn't need centers, and we have 9 Defensemen. Seriously, what was Barry expecting?

With his salary retained by 50% it can work. You should read closely. If they clear Stolls cap and pay for vanek with buffalo retaining some of his salary it can work. But it would be am overpayment. And it's a hypothetical so I don't see why you are being so dramatic.

Agree with everything said here. Would rather wait for better options to become available than to see Lombardi blow his stack and put the team in a compromising position. Look at how many buyouts we saw this summer due to regrettable UFA signings. We're going to see a ton of managers regretting the moves they made today.
It's another Bobby Holik, Stephane Quintal, Valeri Kamensky, Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Mike Komisarek, Michael Cammalleri, Jeff Finger, Danny Briere, etc. summer with players getting grossly overpaid. Guys like Clowe and Clarkson earning more than the likes of Brown and Williams and close to as much as Jeff Carter?!

And it's not just Vanek. We always do this. Especially this year when it's 100% not going to happen. I just don't see the point in discussing Iginla, Morrow, Frason, Vanek, etc. etc. etc. It's 100% pointless. We have to re-sign our RFAs. That leaves is with around $2M to spend on a 2nd line LWer maybe? What 2nd line LW would sign for that? To trade for Vanek would require a massive overpayment because it'd have to compensate Buffalo for eating like $5M in cap space as well. And trade Stoll? Then that causes a hole on our 3rd line center, PK, and key faceoffs. I just don't like living in fantasy land. That's just me. You guys can continue to discuss bat **** crazy trades and signings. I just asked if I was really the only one who didn't like even discussing highly illogical, never going to happen scenarios with our team. Like Lokti being our first line center...

All I know is that when the Kings didn't have Mitchell and Greene all year, who would've predicted the Kings would finish where they finished? Or when Kopitar and Brown were MIA in the playoffs? Conference final, or 1st round exit to St.Louis? I would've said 1st round exist. Probably in 4 straight. That would've been with just Kopitar missing for the last month of the season, not even figuring whatever happened to Brown would happen.
I'll give the GM and coach the benefit of the doubt. 2012 speaks for itself. They both made it work last year too, when there was really no point where it looked like it would work. Mitchell starts the year on IR. Greene goes down in the first game. Quick is coming off an injury. Gagne doesn't fit. Loktionov wants out. They lose Hickey for Muzzin. They bring in a project from Florida. Their record to start the short season wasn't very good. Martinez had an off year. Half of the defense from the Cup run isn't the same for most of the season. Penner ends up with 2 goals. Quick doesn't have a great year. The list can go on. They still made it work though. I can wait and see.

That would be me, Reclamation, and Telos? I believe. If we're going to get a UFA, it'd likely be him. Skill, stopgap, could be had for cheap probably. I still stick with the fact that either Penner or Pearson will be our 2nd line LW next year. But with Penner distancing himself from the team on Twitter and posting a joke about being unemployed, I'm going to guess Penner is out.
