I'd say Mitchell gets in about 50 or so games this season and Schultz is there to fill in for spot duty whenever necessary as he's far more proven and NHL tested than Ellerby.

Should anything happen to Mitchell, Schultz steps in his place and Ellerby shifts up as the regular healthy scratch, ala Davis Drewiske.

One of Muzzin or Martinez will be gone by October as they're competing to pin down that LD spot next to Matt Greene.

Sounds about right. Just a hard year to have WM $3.5M being brought back slowly.... If the Kings get him up and going by the playoffs that should be fine.

Other downside with WM not being 100% is that the Kings will run 8D.... Thought WM could get to 100% before the season... right now to bring TT up Fraser gets moved and Lewis goes to 4C. Or TT goes to the AHL....

Would be nice to trim the D down........

thanks I couldn't remember.....with that kind of depth we are going to lose one probably two, well DL wanted to be like Detroit......lets hope there is a LW prospect buried somewhere that is in the same boat we can swap for

I think the cap going down this year is going to help some teams get players that would normally get claimed through waivers. A number of teams aren't going to have the flexibility in cap space or roster spots to put in claims and keep a player in the NHL for a month... I could see Tampa or Minnesota taking a player but there will likely be enough teams trading players that are better options than what you'd get on waivers. Also keep in mind that re-entry waivers no longer exist, so there are probably going to be teams that flood waivers with a ton of players to have depth a couple of guys in the AHL to call up in the event of injuries. I think people are going to be surprised at some of the players that pass through waivers this season.

Time for Roster speculation!!!

ok.... So Muzzn/Doughty. Muzzin's doing great fighting and holding in there, but do you see DL rolling into the playoffs with Muzzin on a top pairing? I think DL will look at a vet D man. Biggest thing here is that the vet can put the mins in with Doughty. Also any move to pick up a 3+Million contract starts at Stoll.

Buff: C.Ehrhoff/H.Tallinder
Car: T.Gleason

So maybe Stoll + 1st for C.Ehrhoff? Ehrhoff's contract is a little crazy, but DL didn't have a problem with Quick's/Brown's so it isn't like DL is afraid of a huge contract.

Also if a vet is brought in, I see Martinez being moved, as he will be buried in depth. A-Mart isn't going to change his game and DS will continue to bench him when others are healthy. It is probably better for A-Mart to go somewhere he can play. Maybe A-Mart for Orlov (Washigton) or throw A-Mart in with Stoll to go for someone like McNabb from Buffalo.

Too much down time between games.

Ehrhoff would be great but I have a feeling Buffalo would rather move Myers and that hefty contract.

What about?

Vey, Greene and Martinez for Myers

lol oh ok clifford to montreal for 2nd and 3rd in 15

I don't know if we can get that much, but yeah, I'm definitely on board.

fraser to anyone for a 5th

I think this is the reason why Vey gets sent down. I think Lombardi's trying desperately to unload Fraser without having to waive him.

clifford and a 5th for gleason and 3rd
go ahead tell me how stupid they are lol but with some reasons for why :sarcasm:

I especially like this one because I love Gleason, but I don't see how the canes are adding a 3rd and us a 5th. If anything, I'm thinking Clifford + 3rd for Gleason, or something close to that.

You get a lettter grade B! :)

I think that we need two picks for clifford and montreal needs size on the wing thats my thinking there

honestly i think we can get this Fraser is a two time cup winner and is decent for a 4th line run Also willing to step up for teammates well more willing to get punched out and throwen around.

the reason canes add is gleasons contract is more expensive and has a extra year more then cliffords Value of the 3million salary (roughly) has us moving up in a draft from a 5th to a 3rd (ok mostly cause i want to see dean get a extra pick in the draft so he can use it to pick a player like he always does moving up)

thanks for the b lol i think thats the higher then i thought after the last trade comment you made thinking i over value our players i ll take it. :D

Well since you liked thoses maybe try one more

Clifford to Montreal for Bourque at 2 million and 3rd (for taking a chance on him and clear million in cap space) i think he could be effective with his old coach sutter If not we still have our buyouts to use :)

Keep in mind that Clifford has suffered 3 concussions in the past few years. Realistically, I think he's worth a 2nd, but I can see maybe someone offering a 2nd and a 5th but I don't see a 2nd and a 3rd but who knows...

Most teams aren't going to care about Fraser winning 2 cups because he wasn't an integral part of our cup run. He's a serviceable center who's willing to drop gloves and a good locker room guy. Wish him all the best. :)

Gleason's contract may be 4M or so, but he's probably still worth that or close to it. Gleason doesn't have a negative market value, which is what you're implying.

I actually had to change your grade to C, because of all the housecleaning I had to do within your quotes. :p:

I like Bourque and I can see Clifford going the other way. Bourque seems to be struggling since joining the habs,so, there's a chance we can get MTL to pick up part of his salary. I just don't know if Bourque is THAT much of an improvement over King at this point.

B-

lol at changing my grade to a C for that cute Ok i ll change how i will respond now dont want to loose another grade lol

OK Clifford has had 3 concusions but prior to that i seem to recall a post by tg saying he wouldnt trade him for less then 2 seconds I would say that would be fair value on Clifford I was thinking ok maybe the last concusion lowered his value a bit so i dropped to a 3rd. Again im trying to get extra picks because we seem to do well with them. Hell if we could get a 2nd 4 and 6th id proberly take it.tbh Also remember clifford is one of my favourite king players so i want a decent return.

I see us tradeing fraser to florida or calgary someone that can use a vetern center to show the younger guys some grit and the ropes so to speak. Well also some team looking to make the next step playoff wise might be interested colorado nyi looking for playoff experince is something clubs that dont have it look for. shrug ok im reaching a bit hopeing lol

I think gleason is overpaid by $1- 1.5 million . I don't see him playing more then our 5th defenseman with greene moving up and 4 million for a bottom defenseman is 1.5 to much at least that is why the picks to even that out maybe just me wanting to get the best of a deal for a change The more picks we get the better off we are in the long run with our scouting and developement of our own players.

If bourque rebounds to play like he did with Sutter yes he is a upgrade for sure over king If not then hes at least a semi skilled player and a change over clifford a grinder( at least everyone is calling him that I see the skill but thats another discussion)

I'd rather move Clifford to rent Cammalleri and hope to get him re-signed. He'd be a perfect fit given his familiarity with the organization, he's a left handed shot, he can shoot the puck, he has matured quite a bit over the years, and I think he'd work out perfectly on Kopitar's left side.

Nolan and Carcillo can replace Clifford's presence and they also have another LW in Dwight King who plays big and is a workhorse along the boards.

I was just thinking the other night about acquiring Cammy as he scored the winning goal against us. He's basically a one dimensional player, but if we could get him for cheap, he'd definitely would be a great help on our pp for sure.

He may be one dimensional, but the way he worked Voynov in the corners would make me overlook his deficiencies. You can't ice 12 forwards who play like Trevor Lewis or Colin Fraser. He may also be small in stature but he isn't an easy player for defensemen to handle. It would also be the closest player they could get to someone like Martin St. Louis.

KINGS17 in 3...2...1...

Nope everyone is over that Garbage.

Cammi would be just fine on the LW of Kopitar. Hell Frolov would be a welcome sight back.

Could you imagine Frolov/Kopitar/Williams....That line would never lose the puck.

Frolov may be lazy, but his board work and possession skills are elite.

Frolov is only 31, its not like he is washed up.

Never really cared for Frolov after finding out that he was best buddies with Avery.

He may be 31, but he really hasn't done anything since leaving the kings.

The Kings need a winger opposite of Kopitar who isn't afraid of shooting the puck. He needs a sniper. Frolov simply isn't that style of player. Frolov would hang on to the puck for long durations and the Kings would end up taking a low quality shot from along the boards, or attempt a wraparound. Whereas Cammalleri aggressively tries to get the puck on net and finds open spots in the offensive zone to get his lethal shot off.

That is a fair scouting report... And I agree with it 100%..
