I can't really fault the defense in this game. I thought they played stellar, at first. Sure, there were a few wide open Dallas receivers, missed tackles, but all in all, take into account that the O coughed up the ball on 3 consecutive drives, I believe the offense was on the field for close to 6 minutes..in the first half!

The D did what they had to do. The offense..

*Sigh*

Bring on Denver.

Jerry Reese won 2 SBs in 4 years with exactly that approach.

I know. but the defense is the reason why they never dominant during the regular season. You can't ignore the other levels of the defense. Teams like the 49ers are dominate (by today's NFL) because they have impact players at all levels of the D. Seahawks too.

Yes. 2 SBs but things would be a lot easier if they had better regular season defense.

Put this O with a good D, 11-13 wins just about every year.

The Giants offense is coming alive at least.. thats a good sign.. If the defense is even decent we will win alot of games.. We have a great offense.

The biggest problem lies with not having a RB who can hold onto the ball.

I dont disagree.. the Giants LBs have been crap for how many years now?

The defense gave us more than enough to win that game today. 14 points were on Wilson's fumble for a TD and Scott's missed catch for a TD..

This is going to sound stupid to ask but did Coughlin put in two RBs out there? It felt like it was all Wilson then all Scott.

other than those 2 the other guy is Cox and I assume Coughlin doesn't trust him yet, but Wilson is clearly on his **** list now so we might see him get some touches.

I hated scott from the start.. he was supposed to be cut but brown got hurt... I live in Oklahoma and now ima hear about how the cowboys are the better team ugh!!!!... even tho its the first game im very happy hockey season is right around the corner because the people down here are to uneducated to understand hockey:p:

No, I know those are the 3 RBs the Giants have. My question is when the offense was on the field, did Coughlin only have one RB out there? Because I don't recall seeing Scott alongside Wilson, and I didn't see Scott alongside Cox. It seemed like only Wilson was out there, followed by Scott being alone.

oh, then yeah.. it was never changed up.. it was either all wilson or all scott.

If we had a running back that could do the absolute bare minimum of get a few yards per carry, hold onto the damn ball and catch a screen pass while stepping backwards that's a win. Thought the defense looked good a little shakey to start as I expected and you can't fault them for giving up those plays to Austin and witten you cant cover everybody every play, if the offense could have sustained some TOP on the possessions they turned the ball over on on fumbles and even came away with all of 3 points on the 3 drives that's a completly different game but you can't hand a team the ball in the red zone 3 times and expect to win.

Also didn't notice Webster royally **** anything up tonight which is always a plus...

The Giants handed the Cowboys 24 points off TOs, while the first Wilson fumble killed a drive in the red zone. That's at least a 27 point swing. It's mind-boggling that the game was as close as it was. Just shows the explosiveness of the Giant offense and the awfulness of the Cowboy secondary. Looked like the same ol' Cowboys to me.

Thank you. And basically without a running game. That seems to be lost amongst the...er...noise. The Giants couldn't have played worse and still had a chance to win. Whether that says more about the Giants or the Cowboys remains to be seen.
