Giants lost the first game in each of their two recent super bowl seasons.

It stinks to drop the first game to a division rival. But I'm not throwing the towel in on a Giants team with a great passing attack and a very underrated secondary.

There are certainly concerns. Most notably, the running game issues. They were hurt last year by their bad division record.

As a Cowboy's fan, I've seen that act before too over the past several years. Except, in the script, Eli leads the team down the field for a GW touchdown with under 2 minutes left -- he doesn't throw a pick 6.

I was happy Dallas showed the mental fortitude to make a big play at the end of the game, for once. I even liked the way Kiffin had the front 7 playing. Their secondary play is still an atrocity that can't stop a nosebleed.

Overall, I think you're looking at 2 teams that aren't going anywhere this season.

Don't think so...

If the Giants had any semblance of a running game, I might agree.

Not only do they not, but their issues at running back as are bad as any team in the league right now.

all we need is someone who.can hold onto the ball.. not one team in the league can cover all of Cruz, nicks, Randle, and Myers. we even can use Murphy as a deep threat. issue is holding onto the ball and LB

The Giants running game has been an issue for some time now and it reared its ugly head last night. They are an inexperienced group and Andre Brown can never stay healthy.

A veteran RB is definitely needed but injuries are a concern. McGahee can be productive if his knee holds up. I'm not sure how much Jacobs has left in the tank.

Even if we bring in a more solid RB, this is most certainly a new-school pass-first Giants team.

We can't run the ball into the end zone, so I'm expecting Eli to have very high Yards, TD's, and Interceptions.

if we sign Mcgahee I disagree about running into the end zone. I think hed be a great GL back for sure

I can hold onto the ball. I'd lose 7 yards every carry, but I promise you I'd hang onto it.

...they need someone to be semi-productive as well. The Cowboy's secondary has stunk for years, and still stinks. You start running into teams with halfway decent DB's knowing the Giants have zero running game, and it won't be that easy for the air attack.

Giants been a passing team for awhile now. The running game is more for show.

Two years ago the Giants had no running game and won a SB.

Just need a RB that can block and pick a blitz. The rest of what he does, like run well, is gravy.

I mean, thats just flat out false.

In 2011, the combination of Bradshaw, Jacobs, and Ware gained about 2,000 all purpose yards. Was that "for show?"

That team had the type of depth at running back that needed to be respected.

The offensive line was also one of, if not the best in the league. I think that is being forgotten here. The Giants are missing a couple of starters and while Pugh did very well, missing Baas and playing guys out of position who are not accustomed to eachother is a big deal and disrupts the running game.

Right, we saw a lot of three-step drops and gunslinging from Eli that, had we less competent wideouts and QB's, would have been a real problem.

The OC and Eli are not confident in the O-lines ability to provide a sustained pocket. Simultaneously, our D line had very little pressure. We sacked Romo just once, and hit him maybe 3 times in the game.

The funny thing is that I am much more confident about the Giants chances than I am about the Cowboys even with the Giants loss.

Funny you say that, because for some reason I'm more optimistic about the Giants this season, and leaning more toward 9-7 than 8-8 after last night

The offensive explosion, play by Ross/Rolle/Thomas/Connor, and Pugh (aside from one or two plays) really exceeded my expectations.

Losing Prince ****ing sucks, even though I don't think he's that great.

On the other hand, Wilson isn't going to fumble every game. If we bring in a banger like Jacobs, or a versatile guy like McGahee, we've got a good dynamic there.

Would love to see this offense under a more run n' gun philosophy guy than Killdrive. Other than that, let's go for 9!

Also totally forgot I put in a waiver claim for McGahee after the game last night in fantasy

The Giants, barring an amazing game, are most likely going to start 0-2 with Denver next week. But after that? Panthers, Chiefs, Eagles, Bears, Vikings, Eagles, bye, Raiders.

The Jets Oline has been a joke for two years. No running lanes and every QB from Sh**chez to Mcilroy to Smith has zero time to pass. Guys were knifing through the line like it wasn't there all day. But hey why not start Ducasse it's not like we had someone else at G all preseason and Ducasse couldn't even see the field...

Smith looked horrendous again in the first half. Truly awful football and he got Cumberland absolutely killed throwing that ball about 20 yards too late. But he pulled himself together and wasn't atrocious in the second half. Still the Jets should have lost 17-10. Thankfully the Bucs played one of the dumber games I've seen in awhile.

The Giants....wow. 6 TO's. What else is there to say? Still almost won the damn game.

Wow, this did not turn out to be the monday night matchup they were looking for.

You never know with the Giants. It's why following the team is so interesting. No game result is a given, and one win or loss could be the difference between a Super Bowl appearance and no playoffs at all.

Hahaha omg you might say that I'm...howling at the eagles misfortune. (Seriously I want this franchise to go 0-16 every year disgusting ****bags) Please let the skins come back and win this
