I couldn't believe it when they failed to score a TD from the 1. Same problem they had last year. They couldn't get a veteran RB to plow it in?

not really, get a RB. and the punt was just horrible luck

Uh-oh :sarcasm:

Seriously. I don't understand why I haven't read about the Giants bringing in a RB yet.

McGahee, Turner, Beanie Wells, Tim Hightower, Jonathan Dwyer. Hell, Brandon Jacobs is out there, too.

So unless they sign a veteran – like Jonathan Dwyer or Beanie Wells, whom they worked out last week, or Tim Hightower, whom they looked at in June – they’re left with Wilson, a 22-year-old dynamo with speed and moves that leave his coaches drooling in practice. They spent the summer dreaming about how he could transform their offense.

Wilson has all the tools just needs to hold onto the damn ball..didn't Tiki have problems early too?

He did. Tiki fumbled 53 times in his career. 40 were from 2000-2004. Four total in 2005 and 2006.

High and tight.

The Giants, IMHO, aren't necessarily in the position to have to go through a young RB's growing pains though. If this team doesn't make the playoffs, it's a lost season. As long as Eli is here, if the Giants don't make the playoffs, it's a lost season.

Is David Wilson ready to start in the NFL? Well, last night wasn't a positive indication of that.

Agreed all around.

Someone must be brought in.

Giants are bringing in McGahee and Jacobs to work out this week. Honestly they just need to protect the ball which is easier said than done. You gotta throw Wilson back in there, when he doesn't turn the ball over Ed great, just bring in McGahee to mentor him and share the workload. Also Eli has to be much better, those INTs were cringeworthy.

Source? That's the best news I've heard today :yo:

The first INT was ****. Second you could make the case for a blatant miscommunication between he and the receiver there (I forget who it was, was it Nicks?). And I don't know how you could fault him for the third INT; that's all on Scott... and that's a typical Eli interception.

In 2010, when Eli threw 25 INTs... how many of those were tipped balls? I remember one season, I think it was 2010, where the amount of dropped/tipped passes that turned into INTs was absolutely insane.

On the bright side though, the passing game really looked explosive last night with Eli working out of the shotgun. Now, if we can build a steady running game with McGahee/Wilson or Jacobs/Wilson tandem, to mix in the play-action, the Giants can actually have an explosive offense with Eli/Nicks/Cruz/Randle/Myers.

EDIT - Just got the tweet to a news source:

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.

Thomas looked good, worried about Prince's injury, though. Linebacker core is getting even weaker. Should be running an almost permanent nickel package this year with the league's emphasis on passing the ball.

BJ back with the Giants shows that our GM is not too proud to give second chances. I knew dressing only three scat-backs was a bad idea.

Joe McKnight does nothing well outside of returning kicks. I guess he's okay catching the ball out of the backfield, but he's not better than anything on your roster. He also struggles to hold onto the ball.

McKnight is a soft player. In training camp with the Jets,he barely practiced in camp because he was always bothered by something. That guy has issues. In the NFC east, the Giants,Dallas and Redskins aren't separated by much. Whichever team has their best players playing their best and avoiding the injury bug, that team will win the east.

Giants will be like the Broncos imo. pass heavy this year. They have an elite receiving core and a very good TE, just need a decent back who can hold onto the ball

So you're ready to believe the Giants are going to turn the ball over six teams a game for the rest of the season?

"The Giants couldn't have played worse and still had a chance to win. Whether that says more about the Giants or the Cowboys remains to be seen."

I was referencing this quote. In, we've seen the Giants play bad with chance to still win against other opponents AND Cowboys give up big plays and missed opportunities against other opponents. Therefore "we've seen this act from both teams before".

On the bright side, 'Keem, Cruz and Randle all had very good games. Myers had a very strong 4th Q, too.

Eli derped way too hard in the 1st quarter last night, but when you throw for 450 yards and 4 TDs and have one definitely fluke INT and another arguable one, he still had a very strong game.

Wilson really disappointed me. I still think he can be a very good starter but he needs to get rid of the yips.

The defense was also better than I expected. Prince's injury is really, really bad though. He was fantastic before he went down, and we'll need him against Peyton. If not, we might as well be resigned to starting 0-2.

Great to see T2 play and play fairly well.

Besides that, not much else to say. If the offense can be consistent and we don't turn the ****ing ball over 4+ times a game, we'll be good.

Even if we bring in a more solid RB, this is most certainly a new-school pass-first Giants team.

We can't run the ball into the end zone, so I'm expecting Eli to have very high Yards, TD's, and Interceptions.

As a Cowboy's fan, I've seen that act before too over the past several years. Except, in the script, Eli leads the team down the field for a GW touchdown with under 2 minutes left -- he doesn't throw a pick 6.

I was happy Dallas showed the mental fortitude to make a big play at the end of the game, for once. I even liked the way Kiffin had the front 7 playing. Their secondary play is still an atrocity that can't stop a nosebleed.

Overall, I think you're looking at 2 teams that aren't going anywhere this season.

Giants lost the first game in each of their two recent super bowl seasons.

It stinks to drop the first game to a division rival. But I'm not throwing the towel in on a Giants team with a great passing attack and a very underrated secondary.
