33 y/o Eli is the exact reason they should trade him now and get more 1st round picks.

And Jets need to lose out. Not win out. Need a play maker on offense. Need a RB the next round. Need a TE. Need a couple o-linemen. NEED A QB.

33 is too old? Eli still has another run left in him. Crazy how people want him gone so fast

There are not enough holes to fill that I'd trade Eli to try and fill them. The trade would have to be overwhelmingly in our favor (talking an RGIII level trade where we get multiple first round picks) to even think about it.

Fantasy Football Playoffs!!!

Chris Johnson is starting to scare the crap out of me.

Start 2 of:

Chris Johnson
Keenen Allen
Mike Wallace
Bobby Rainey
Chris Ivory
Montee Ball

Allen and Rainey would be my suggestions. Everybody else has real tough matchups this week.

I'm going with Vereen and Woodhead over CJ1K and Steven Jackson. My matchup's predicted scores are within 1 point of each other.

My other league has less decision making needed. Stay on the Drew Brees/Jamaal Charles train. :yo:

Quarterbacks don't grow on trees. Quarterbacks that can play in the meadowlands and still put up yards and tds and win championships while dealing with the most disgusting fans in the nfl plus the most vicious media in the world are extremely hard to come by. The Giants offensive line is garbage and it has been bad for 3 years, including the year we won the superbowl where we had the worst running game in the league. And the NFL knows it. The truth is the Giants should have seen this coming with aging guys on the line they did not replace. They lost 3 interior linemen including Snee to IR and that will just cripple you. So the number one priority should be to strengthen the interior of that line with a free agent and a few high draft picks and even then they will still struggle to begin next year baring injury. Also, Diehl is done as a player, great all time Giants lineman but he has been finished for the past 2 years. Now Snee is finished. And Baas was always mediocre. The other guy 77 whose name escapes me right now was always a so so player that you could get by with guys like Snee and a better Diehl on the line. But now that those guys are out he's been exposed. The Tackles are still learning. Despite being a 4 year veteran the left tackle Beatty is still learning from being injured 2 years out of the 4 and he is ok. I am very impressed with the Rookie Pugh. The defense took a step forward this year and you see the importance of good play on every line of the defense, plus defense besides being organized is really an attitude. If you don't get pissed when people get 20 and 30 yard chunks you won't make it.

Webhead!!! :handclap::handclap::handclap:

They maximized a team that may not have been the most talented in 2011 but got hot at the right time. Even though 2011 ended well, they should have realized that line was not built for the long term. I like the Pugh pick, Snee and Diehl shouldn;t be on the team next year and I love both. Snee has to be one of the best interior lineman the Giants ever had. I hope they take a patient approach and go with a two year plan. ELi is not a mobile QB that takes a lot of hits (unless his line is swiss cheese). He can still be a great QB at age 35 through age 38.

That being said, I still scratch my head at the Nassib pick this year.

Brady's 36 and Peyton's 37. I think Eli's good for another 5 years, not that he's as good as either of those other guys but he's avoided injury and I see no reason to think that he's even close to the end of his career.

Giants need to focus on drafting linemen on both sides of the ball, Eli will be around after a short rebuild.

Quarterbacks don't grow on trees. Quarterbacks that can play in the meadowlands and still put up yards and tds and win championships while dealing with the most disgusting fans in the nfl .

Unnecessary, offensive, and without basis.

I think you can win one more with Eli. I figure he's got another good 5 or 6 years left.

For all his inconsistency, he'll be missed when he's gone. If you told any fanbase in the league, especially those of teams who have struggled or haven't won anything, that you're going to have a QB that's inconsistent, but win you 2 Super Bowls, they'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Nice. Another interception. That one is on both Cruz and Eli.

Cruz for not batting the ball down and Eli for not throwing it to the outside. That ball should have been an easy completion to the outside and instead he throws a toss-up to the inside.

Cruz HAS to bat the ball down, though.

Hope the Jets trade for Cousins this offseason.

Don't think Geno is the solution.

McCaron could be a good solution too if he slips in the draft. I don't want us taking him in the 1st. We need WR's.

At this point i dont even care. The Cowboys game still bothers me, i'm looking forward to next season. They sucked this year

So you're trading a decent first round pick for him?

He's going to Cleveland for sure. They have Indy's late first to move for him.

Also, Geno is much better than AJ. AJ is likely a 3rd or 4th round pick. Maybe even later.

I'd hope he doesn't cost a 1st. Alex Smith, who was a proven QB, got 2 2nd's. Something doesn't add up with a 1st for Cousins and Smith not even getting that.

And I wouldn't say Geno is better than McCaron. Maybe he has a stronger arm, and more raw talent, but McCaron is a much smarter football player. We're talking about a guy who lost 3 overall games as QB in his tenure... and i'd say at least 2 of those losses came because his defense couldn't stop a nose bleed. He's a guy used to success. He was trusted by the best college football mind to run his offense on his own by the time he was a senior.

Sure, you can look at him last year, and claim his success was derived from a strong running attack. And then I'll look at you and tell you that's exactly what we need isn't it? He managed games well. He didn't make many mistakes. He didn't put his team in a bad position. And he made the big plays when he had to. Rex wants a strong run game coupled with a competent and smart QB.

McCaron exemplifies that better than Geno, the gunslinger, who can read defensive schemes at a slightly better efficiency than Sanchise.

All signs point to him costing a first. Jets aren't even listed in the top 5 candidates to get him.

And I would say that Geno is better in just about every area than McCaron. AJ is the very definition of a game manager. He's a solid late round draft pick, but nothing more. Anyone can look good behind that line.

You said it yourself. Isn't that what we need? Solid defense. Manage the game. Give the team a chance to win. He could turn into our own version of Alex Smith.

Except you don't rely on a game manager unless you absolutely need it. That's a last option type of thing. You don't go out wanting to get a mediocre QB who can only manage the game.

I mean, otherwise you're stuck with the like of Geno and Sanchez. Guy who has raw talent who needs the smarts to succeed in the league but doesn't have it.

Chiefs are doing just fine with a strong defense and a game manager as QB if you ask me.

You're missing the point.

You don't want a game manager unless you have to have one. The Chiefs needed a QB in the worst way and were limited in who they could get. Smith, I'd add, is better than a typical game manager anyway.

If Geno shows no improvement over the summer then you may think about going out and finding someone who can push him. I see a ton of Eli in Geno. Have been saying that all season. Same big arm, same type of rookie season. Eli, though, had better players surrounding him on offense than Geno does (so Eli's struggles were even more troubling, IMO).

I'm just not as sold on Geno. I guess you can reassess next year. Idzik will conceivably spend money on protecting Geno and giving him weapons.

Need a WR in the 1st. A RB in the 2nd. Another WR via FA. A TE via FA. and 2 linemen via FA.

That's just on offense.
