Hope J.T. didn't bother unpacking his bag.

Probably a stupid question, byt how does it work with guys like Miller and accommodation? Does he have to pay for and organise it both places? Does the club help out? Is he expected to stay at another players place in either HFD ir NY?

He almost definitely has a place in Hartford, and the Rangers put him up in a hotel in NY whenever he's called up.

On the bright side, these constant injuries certainly hurt Callahan's value. Perhaps he'll be asking for less than $5.5 per year on a long-term deal, and Slats can get him down to something like 5 for $5/per? I still wouldn't want to sign that deal, though :(

Dude is more injury prone than Gaborik and Adam Banks :shakehead

Hopefully this serves as a wake up call to a few other guys on the roster. Now plenty of people need to step up with Callahan out of the lineup... again...

The way cally has played, it might even be to the better. He has really played poor hockey.

I would not sign this guy to a long term contract. You're asking for trouble if you do.

Callahan got an extension right after a season with multiple injuries. He only played 60 games that season. He has had better seasons after that nearly hitting 30 goals one year and hitting 16 goals in a half season. He is gonna miss at least another 10 games, but it gives him an opportunity to get back for the 2nd half have and go out on a tear. If he does, he is going to get that extension with no questions asked. But as much aa I love Callahan, 4 years might be the max.

People need to still be behind him, because it's not his fault he gets hurt. You gotta feel bad for a guy who likely lost his roster spot on team USA now, and has to prove his worth in the 2nd half of this season when he gets back. I for one will be rooting for him to have a monster 2nd half.

Callahan is built like a tennis player. He's breaking down at breakneck speeds.

They are crazy if they sign this guy to a new contract...

Wonder how much longer Nadal can play as well as he has. What Federer was able to do is amazing.

I was thinking about this the other day. If I was playing in Hartford etc I think it would make more sense to live somewhere in Fairfield County CT. That way no matter who I am playing for I can sleep in my own bed.

Where does the wolfpack practice ?

You don't have to be "made of glass" to get injured with how hard Cally plays. This has been a tough season for him. It's not going to bode well for his contract negotiations, that is for sure.

Time to let him walk if this is how it's going to be. Can't tie up $5-6 million in cap space for a guy who spends half the season on IR and is inconsistent when he does play. I can't even say that he brings needed intangibles anymore because with the way he's playing this season he's a pretty bad player, he's not even playing hard anymore

He's going to get resigned most likely, but it will not be long term. With him it should be maybe 2 or 3 years, and if he plays well, the rangers will just keep the small extensions up. I believe he wants to be with the Rangers, so he'll likely get less money then.

So in a sample of 20 games he is done? Come on now. :shakehead

How many times does this need to be said?

Callahan was crap last season. His '12 and '13 playoffs were crap also.

People here have really lowered their expectations. And I don't blame them, for the past 2 seasons nearly every single forward on our team has fallen short of expectations.
