So realistically for injured players at this point, I guess the expectations are:
Henrik will be back Monday or by the end of next week.
Hagelin should be back Tuesday or by the end of next week.
Callahan should be back around the 2nd week of November.
Nash we are hoping will be back around the beginning of December.

Yikes. Hopefully some home games will help them collect points on sheer momentum . . . .

Henrik back in net will help.

Hagelin, I don't think will make that much difference. I always saw him as a complimentary piece. Lots of speed but not able to affect the game on his own. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Some people are very high on him. I like him, and I hope he turns into the player many think he is already.

Paul Gaustad for a 1st (actual trade was Gaustad & a 4th for a 1st) was a historical overpayment. Using this as a baseline for any player's worth is a fool's errand.

Regardless, while there is historical compatibles for trades, the trade market is 100% independent from past trade deadlines each year based on the market. Either way, a 2nd for Boyle is the most realistic scenario, anything more is unrealistic/greedy.

Exactly. I have been saying a 2nd rounder for a while.

I do remember this. Good point

Alright, just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy...

I agree. He is not a finisher. I think having Hagelin back will mean more Brad Richard's goals. One of the other main benefits of having him play is the fact that someone who is worse will not play.

THAT long? THAT bad for Nash?

Who knows? Im surprised the Rangers even allow his name to be uttered on MSG.. its like they pretend he doesn't exist. No updates. No word. Nothing outside of mentioning him as a scratch on MSG.

Last thing I saw on him was they are going to check his status 'week to week'. EARLIEST possible sounds like mid-November but I think a more hopeful prediction seems to be Decemberish.. Starting to sound like the Marc Staal situation though...

[Obligatory "every concussion is different" statement here] Usually the order of events is one week of symptom-free rest. Then one-to-two weeks of symptom-free light exercise. Then cleared to skate. On-ice workouts getting more and more intense each day. Then cleared for contact. Nash suffered the concussion on Oct 8. It's been 17 days and he hasn't been cleared for light exercise yet. That means at least 10 days of symptoms after the hit. This is his second concussion in less than a year. The training staff is going to go slow here. The longer it takes for him to become symptom-free, the longer the training staff will stretch out the second phase of recovery.

Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a Michael Sauer situation.

Does anyone else recall Hank extending to make a save and staying down on his knees for a bit during the Kings game? Am I thinking of another game? Must be groin related.

THIS IS PURE SPECULATION ON MY PART

Well, I have been saying I thought he was injured this entire time so I think all of you owe me a beer or something.

I can't believe we have to go 2 months without our best player because that piece of **** in San Jose just had to throw a dirty elbow. I hope karma bites that mother ****er.

Hagelin is a catalyst, while he himself is not an impact player, he make his line mates better. Very important player imo. Top 5 scorer last season.

It's hilarious how bad our luck with concussions is.

It's almost like the Rangers saw it as the new bad luck fad and decided to be the kings of it.

Agreed. While he may not score a ton himself, he allows his line mates to score more often by doing important work that his skill set is suited to. I think whatever center he plays with will really benefit from having him back.

Meanwhile Nick Kronwall was practically unconscious on the ice a few weeks ago, and he's been back to normal for a few games now.

Loui Erikkson updates on NHL Network the day after it happened.

Rick Nash could be on the moon for all we know.

“@AGrossRecord: Lundqvist says he's ready to play tomorrow.”

“@stevezipay: Henrik Lundqvist ready for home opener”

“@AGrossRecord: Lundqvist says it's fair to characterize him pain free, healed and 100 percent.”

“@PLeonardNYDN: Lundqvist is starting tomorrow”

Nash is probably sitting in a dark room somewhere. AV said that he has stopped asking about him, it doesn't sound like he is close to returning.
