Typical Callahan (in a good way). Broke his thumb blocking a shot on the last shift of the game.

Is there an online video clip of the play that caused the injury?

I guess the video clip doesn't exist? Anyway, I would be interested in all your thoughts and any other NYR fan here for that matter on your former Coach Torts' philosophy on being aggressive and getting into the shooting lanes and shot blocking ... did you think it had a tangible effect to the positive side of the ledger versus the negative side i.e. players getting injured.

I noticed that Callahan was lauded by 'MSG' for his shot blocking ... how much of that mentality, in your opinion was implanted into their mindset by the influence of Coach Torts' on the players under his watch.

Thanks!

You don't know with a concussion. He could wake up tomorrow fine or we could not see him again for months. This isn't something like a broken bone where there's a timeline for a recovery.

Sure. but then again they wouldn't clear nash from just having one good day, either.

Even a "nothing new to report" type of thing would be something at this point.

Just heard from Darren Drieger on tsn Montreal radio. He was checking in on Nash status with the Rangers to for team Canada purposes and he was told Nash is "not even close to returning".

Welp :(

If there's a silver lining to this, at least we will get to see what the kids are made of. When Gaborik and Callahan both missed 20 games a piece in 10-11, we saw breakout seasons from a 20 year old Stepan and a 22 year old Anisimov. Now Miller and Kreider are at the same ages, respectively. Not expecting them to be saviors by any means, but this is a great opportunity for them to show they belong on this team.

Sucks about Nash but you have to be careful with concussions......weird that Kronwall who received a much worse hit than Nash is returning Wednesday after suffering a mild concussion last week.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Though Lundqvist is here, #NYR say he is not practicing. Dealing with a "minor issue."”

“@stevezipay: Lundqvist has a minor issue, will not practice today, team says”

“@stevezipay: Lundqvist considered "day to day"”

“@AGrossRecord: From #NYR practice: Henrik Lundqvist skated on own without pads but will not practice today due to "minor issue," per team.”

“@AGrossRecord: Clarification: Lundqvist was on ice testing new skates. Should not be considered skating on his own.”

Not good. If Hank is out, this team is going to be REALLY bad.

Ehh, he's been so good lately he doesn't need to practice! And hey, even if he misses a few games, at least we've got a veteran in Biron to back him u... oh... wait... my bad...

Who cares. Hank couldn't stop a basketball from ending up in his net these days.

Waive him :sarcasm:

Marty's heart was into playing anymore. Go read his comments in the NY Times. If he was still here, his mind would be somewhere else.

Everyone should probably relax. Sometimes if something is bothering you, you need an extra day or so to rest it up.

"Minor issue" and testing new skates, I'm not too worried sounds like maybe he tweaked something in his foot..... Or at least I hope

Remember the time a couple years ago he had to leave the game temporarily because they said he had a skate issue, but he really just had to take a horrible ****?

Nash and Cally out is a big deal but even I will admit if he is hurt season is over and we are in huge trouble.. i will see if my guys dig anything up. Which game did he get run into and came up shaking his knee? St Louis? or SJ
