Another positive to mention - Bourque no longer looks physically overmatched. He'll never be able to punish other players like a Kreider or a McIlrath, but he isn't as easily dominated himself and I don't fear for his health like I used to.

Good play by McIlrath on defense there. Skated over to cover for his partner, stayed in front of the attacking winger, stripped him as he tried to cut to the center of the ice and then corralled the puck.

Jean and Dupont with good board work feeding Allen in the slot about 30 feet out, but he holds on to the puck too long before shooting and it gets blocked wide. Jean then working the puck behind the boards draws a penalty.

Craziness at the end.

Pack win the draw. Kreider with a great shot from the slot. Mad scramble. PUck goes in with zeroes on the clock. Ref waves it off - but, he waves a good second or two AFTER it's in and it's pretty clear he was waving without even knowing where the puck was. (Which was in the goal!)

Oh lord. The Wolf Pack might have tied this up. I think time expired, but either way Kreider gets a really good shot off with 4.5 seconds left directly off the faceoff and then following a net mouth scramble the puck trickled in.

Kreider was very noticeable.

If you'd watched the whole game, I think you'd say Kreider and Hrivik were up there too.

(Talbot was also pretty good.)

That is very encouraging. Kreider, Hrivik and Talbot are three guys I really want to see succeed down in AHL. I mean I want everyone to do well, but those are 3 guys who I feel can contribute at some point at the NHL. Along with Lindberg, McIlrath and Kristo.
