JT Miller scored another goal tonight

https://twitter.com/WolfPackAHL/status/412008640636518400

His 7th of the season. 7 goals and 9 points in 8 games.

The Pack lost again. 5-2. Kristo scored the other goal.

i just hope he does not become on of these players too good for the AHL but not good for the NHL. he is still young.. if he plays at center and doing well, Rangers should keep him their at the NHL level if he struggles or not. isnt the leadership on this supposed Ranger team suppose to help the youth in situations like this :help:

Needs to stay in the ahl the rest of the year and try to win a spot with big club next season. He looks badly overmatched every time we call him up. Particularly defensively.

Miller is not a perimeter player, or a player who doesn't compete at boths ends of the ice, which typically are two main flaws of "AHL/NHL tweeners".

I mean you never know. But keep in mind if Miller was drafted from the OHL this would be his first pro season and if he was putting up these kinds of numbers as a first year pro he would be being insanely hyped right now.

He isn't a Krog or a Larouche type player. His game is very well suited for the NHL, just needs to polish his game a little. I think he is a few weeks to a couple months away from contributing at the NHL level.

Probably the worst D 1 through 6 in franchise history. They make Jared Nightingale look like an AHL allstar. Syvert, Nash, Hughes, Johnson have been brutal, Allen so-so, Bickel is playing like he doesnt care, McI was ok, getting better.

Very well said. He has a great toolset and is willing to battle.

Miller's biggest problem right now has nothing to do with him. The Rangers are trying to find a spark, and they're giving him the Kreider Yo-Yo treatment. He should spend the rest of the year with the Pack. Let him develop.

He's also a pretty good skater, and he's got good size, which are generally attributes these AHL/NHL tweeners lack.

Didn't see the Pack's game from this evening yet, but Miller was absolutely dominant last night. Looked like Tavares out there.

One of the things I said when Miller was drafted was that there was no need to rush him, and that he should be left in juniors for a couple of years to develop.

Miller's an NHL player. He can play a two way 3rd line wing role right now. But his upside is a top 6 center. Let's see him in that role at the A, and bring him up when he finds that next level in his game.

He's the kind of kid that has "it" I think. Now it's just a matter of harnessing it and playing with consistency.

Bobby Ryan was too good for the AHL at one point too you know. It's never a bad thing for him to play.

JT Miller with a highlight reel goal tonight to make it 3-2...... definitely worth a look

Miller basically just needs to improve his decision making at the NHL level. Apparently his favorite player growing up was Kovalev and he wanted to play like that, which is evident in the fact that he can stickhandle and hang onto the puck well, but he needs to know when to make the best play and when not to hang onto it too long or force something that isn't there.

How much of the Packs problems are terrible goaltending at this point?

A lot. A lot of it is poor defensive play from everyone on the team apart from Miller, Mcilrath, Allen, and arguably Lindberg

But the pack are competitive in every game. It's not like they are getting blown out

Miller tries to do waaayyyy too much by himself out there. Kid plays a cocky game, which is a good thing, but he needs to learn to trust and use his linemates better.

Isn't Aaron Johnson having a really good year? I heard Bickel was too.

Johnson is good offensively. Decent defensively.

Bickel is ok, I guess. Haven't seen him play all that much.

But a lot of their defensemen are downright terrible. Nash, Syvret, etc. brutally bad.

And really none of the forwards have a clue defensively. Miller and lindberg are the exceptions. Kristo is actually better defensively than most of the forwards.
