Martin leads the Wolves to a big win tonight thus claiming the Alliance Championship over London. I've said it in the coaching circles I've been in but Gerber will be an absolute steal to whomever takes him. Was the only reason that Kitchener team won last year and he solidified himself by moving to Waterloo and putting on another strong performance tonight. Fun to watch and congrats to the Wolves!

For a workaholic sure, unless you’re being silly and suggesting one to coach, all scouting, monitor schooling & diet, deal with parents, ..
Most good NFL coaches have total control of a 52 man roster

I have no issues with Kuwabara but it’s not like he’s had enough experience as a head coach in the OHL to pull double duty. Guys like Williamson and Kilrea are examples of guys that take care of hockey ops as well as coaching and make all final decisions on hockey ops. They had an assistant GM that took care of the business side.

The question is, can Ryan Kuwabara as a rookie head coach take full responsibility of hockey related decisions? I think it would be naive to suggest he will get more than just simple input. Sounds like Debob is on charge and making all final decisions as the GM. Not a good situation. An inexperienced owner surrounded by inexperienced personnel.

Recipe for disaster.

Probably all DeDobbrllaer has to do is accept the acceptable expectations of parents/players and agents. To hell with the wannabe scouts & GMs that think they know better. If he can mange $21M, he’s got the difficult part of managing figured out. With input from the coach, identifying which player is better than another and suits the coach and style is the easy part.
Money has not and will not make you smarter than other people. Get a new GM and pick the BPA

Smarter than others was not stated or implied. If anything, I implied a person does not need to be particularly smart to assemble a roster of hockey players.

And J.Richmond who might be the best currently.
Kuwabara is the coach, not GM or even assistant GM. DeDobbelaer is owner/GM. No one outside the organization has to like it. Though they should be able to accept that is has been done, and can be done effectively.
The real questions are can the owner/GM accept input from scouts and coach before making final decisions; and, can the owner/GM learn to work within the confines of the OHL effectively.

We'll likely see some draft pick swaps the next three days as window for trading them is usually monday to wednesday before the draft. Could see the 67's moving one of their thirds and fourths to get picks back in 25 and 26.

I can also see the Spitfires wanting to move back up into the second/ third rounds. Don’t believe they have a pick until the 6th this year.

I agree Windsor 's draft board especially early rounds 2-5 very thin next 4 drafts including this one coming up,though I could see Windsor adding a 4th,or trade 2 4ths they have in the next 4 drafts for a 3rd and a 5th or 6th.
They do have 2 picks in the 6th,theirs and Flint from the Coulson Pitre trade.

Probably has something to do with legitimate information coming out before people, and teams want it to.

that’s my guess, at least. Doesn’t make sense to me otherwise unless I missed some posts.

I got banned for posting a link about Tanner Dickinson, was labeled speculation.. was literally an article written by someone else.

So who knows these days.

I think they're just hammering down on speculation, true or not, because of how damaging it could be for the kids.

That’s true, this thread has 50,000 views - and “only“ 722 posts.

It’s probably quite a big draw for kids and parents and kids in this age group, alot of lurkers at least.

Can’t tell you the amount of random dm’s I get on here and Twitter about x player on my list.

50K views and that just clicks. How many people screenshot and share too? Information is shared at such a fast rate these days, it's actually wild.

For sure, I could imagine haha.

Yeah, in the very early days of HF before there were even message boards (around 2000-2002), when I was doing some writing and contributions, I’d get a fair bit of messages as well. Interview requests from US based Sports News stations and some NHL agents. That was back 20+ years ago. I can only imagine how things have changed in that amount of time!

I think this years draft will be interesting going by info knowledgeable posters put on here regarding the top 10 players. There seems to be a shift in rankings going into the draft. Particularly in the top five. There are always a couple of surprising selections in the first round.

I have little knowledge of this year's crop & haven't seen many mocks out there, so was curious some guys you would look out for if you were a Sting fan.

17th pick & they never take a D RD1 so it'll be a F. Probably a C with their top 3 Cs all moving on this year.

I know at that range there's probably a ton of options, but just trying to get a feel of some names to keep an eye on haha.

The reason given was: Be more like Lloyd Braun

It's hard to correct behaviour if you don't know what rule you broke in the first place. :)
There were people posting all sorts of speculation about draft prospects and trades that seemed to have disappeared from social media platforms in the last couple of years. We were all familiar with one in particular. They reminded me of George Costanza who said" It's not a lie if you believe it". George beat Lloyd Braun selling refurbished computers in his fathers garage. :)

Who posted the “speculation“?
