For one I don't think it's a straight "must move Kreider to get Panarin", I don't think Edge was trying to say that. I think if they move Kreider it's a combination of wanting more picks or assets and not wanting to commit to a longer contract for him...but it also opens up cap space and roster spot of sorts for Panarin IF they believe that this 2019 draft has resulted in them sitting in a spot where they're about to be competitive in 2 years or so AND Panarin is a better investment than Kreider long term.
That said I haven't gotten the impression that the Rangers are going to be all in on Panarin, just interested and there's mutual interest and a deal can be made that's not wildly over priced then they may do it.
I don't really know where I come down on Panarin ultimately, but I do think that you really need a diverse mix of players and ages when trying to build a team and just trying to match everyone to a specific time is going to result in folly. The Rangers need the older players to help provide structure to the team for the young players trying to make their mark.
He'd have to dox himself. Can I ask why? You are an extremely knowledgeable guy.

Sounds like the same asshat who calls Hank Lundswiss.Only the most popular show on the entire internet. The originator of such original nicknames like Stionk and DeAngelo, he's destined to be a Hollywood sitcom writer
Age/experience/structure diversity can be achieved through other means than Panarin/Kreider and I don't see how that has to be on the front burner.
Zbad, Fast, Strome, Namestnikov, Vesey, Buch, (Beleskey) are all older then 24 and have multiple NHL seasons under their belt. They have several older defenders. Lundqvist is also likely to be on the Rangers for at least another year if not two.
Zucc can't shine Panarin's skates. Was Mats Zuccarello ever as good as Panarin? Would a 20% drop in Panarins average production still be better than the best season in Zuccarello's career? What about a 30% drop?
Outstanding job guys. I’m on a “conference call” now listening. Better Ranger content than anywhere else. Thanks to @Amazing Kreiderman for putting this together. @Edge & @GregSirico, a very professional listen.
Would like to hear the same crew on a post draft podcast.
We did talk about the that.
I joked about it in my first response, but you came across much more assertive in your information and it appeared that there was information you had only scratched the surface on reveals by here. Some of it can be chalked up to the difference between the two media, but, as I said elsewhere, I felt you blew up a few of the arguments about the nature of this rebuild. There was a lot more clarity, also. I thought your ‘hot takes’ at the end were also quite revealing. I’ll be honest, after hearing that podcast, I feel even more confident in my interpretation of what this rebuild looks like.
Part of me almost wants a do-over of the first part as I was getting my feet under me.
But yeah, if there’s an interest, it might be fun to hear what all of you want to hear about
Well, for starters, you pretty much gave the impression that everyone in the organization, from the owner on down, is fully aware that this rebuild is not happening overnight, which flies in the face of some posters claiming that immediate results need to be produced. Like I said, I have felt very strongly about the ‘letter’ being the Bible of how the Rangers would proceed, and your information only confirms that to me. Steve and Greg did a fabulous job of supplying you with the appropriate questions. And you followed through with a great deal of insight that, quite frankly, I have never gotten on that level regarding the Rangers. I cannot tell you how many times I have been disappointed by interviews regarding Ranger matters where either the questioners did ask the right questions, or the person being interviewed did not reach the level of insight you provided. Again, just a well done job all around.
That was actually why I started doing all this in the first place all those years ago. I thought my eyes were going to get stuck in the back of my head from rolling them so much.
So I just started trying to cut through to the chase via the web.
Good stuff, Edge. Really nice job.Part of me almost wants a do-over of the first part as I was getting my feet under me.

+1 from me tooBelieve me, it’s appreciated.

I'll be honest: I did not expect this many positive responses. My podcast is still relatively new (We started 6 weeks ago) and on average we have 500-800 plays per episode. I was hesitant to create a separate thread because the discussion leading up to this was deleted for some reason.
Anyway, I am really happy everyone loved the episode.
