Had a fun conversation about jerseys, not sure if it ended to in the final cut.

Long story short, I can remember the team transporting two boxes with about 50 jerseys in each box to the drafts. Essentially the jerseys would represent the top 100 guys they had on their list.

You know how weird it is to see a Rangers Jeff Heerema jersey, or a Hamhuis jersey?
That's really interesting actually, I never knew that. I suppose though I was more so just trying to get confirmation that Hughes/Kakko are 100% the pick to ease my anxiety. Haha

That was unfortunately something I had to cut

The Extended Cut is available only for people who have shared the podcast with at least 50 friends.

Hell, get the word out about Steven and Greg’s show, get them some love and exposure, and we can do revisit the cut material or the AMA topics everyone really wants to know.

Messier helping Langdon learn to dress up. The Campbell- Robitaille dynamic. The Joe Murphy experiment. Fits over how to spell Tutin. Neil Smith getting lost trying to find the Sedins, etc.

We did it via Skype and the photo I have on there is from more than a year ago. My hair was short. I was glad we didn’t do video, it’s almost to my shoulders and I’ve got a van dyke for the facial hair.

But yes, the goal is to ensure you hear the disdain from my voice in the posts.

@GregSirico @Amazing Kreiderman Great job fellas ! Next time I'd like a live video edition from a Vegas hot tub with champagne and bikini contest winners and Al Trautwig on a blow up plastic swan. Ask Edge to pull some strings....

Edge, you make it sound like you don't like that look, pretty much how I look now but no Van dyke, full beard. Your voice sounded good, I've had a nasty bout of sinusitis and pretty much lost my voice this weekend, feel better.

I have no problem with the look, but it’s certainly not my norm. My hair is typically shorter and graying rapidly. Right now it’s grown out, dyed darker and I’ve got some un-corporate facial hair going.

In my mind people would’ve been expecting the former and not the latter.

Someone in the collecting community had an in at the Thrashers locker room after they moved to Peg. Offered about 100ish jerseys plus 50+ loose nameplates on the forums, then eBay. He had a Rick Nash made up draft day jersey in the bunch.

The entire argument about a player starting his NHL career at a later age so it is OK to give a player a huge contract in his late 20's is flawed. Zuccarello started his career at 23. Last year there was a big push for the Rangers to keep Zuccarello and how he is similar to Martin St. Louis and he could play into his 40's. Zuccarello will be 32 when his next contract starts. He was never the fastest guy but he has slowed down a bit the last couple of years. He was awful for the Rangers outside of a great month. He was good in Dallas. He can still pass the puck and he is a very smart player. The Rangers were fortunate they didn't re-sign Zuccarello to an extension last summer.

Panarin is 27. What is he going to look like at 30? 20% drop in production for an $11M player is significant. Zuccarello dipped at 30. His overall game started to drop way before 2018-19. The Rangers are fortunate they only gave him a 4 year contract in 2015.

Shattnkirk is another darling on this board. The Rangers should sign him. 6 years? 7 years? Give it to him. He is only 28. Defensemen are hitting their prime at 28. Shattenkirk will be good for the 5-6 years and if the Rangers have to eat the last year or two, it's the cost of doing business. Look at his elite possession numbers. This is player who hasn't been used properly. He can play in every situation. f*** Darren Dreger and his Shattenkirk is a PP specialist/2nd paid D at best analysis. Shatty is one of the best D in the entire league. There is one guy on here and I am not going to mention names but he couldn't wait to attend the Rangers first game of the season so he could his favorite player Shatty play for the RANGERS.

Shatty sucks. The Rangers are fortunate they only gave him a 4 year contract too. Nobody wants to trade for him unless they are sending their junk to the Rangers.

The same arguments are being used for Panarin. The last thing the Rangers need is to be left holding the bag on a Panarin contract with 3-4 years remaining. The rest of team is ascending and Panarin is the albatross. $11M third line winger. It's insane.

Zuccarello turns 32 in September. When he was the same age as Panarin, he signed a 4 year deal. Actually what was said about Panarin applied to Zuccarello as well, back in 2015. Zuccarello at 27 didn't have nearly as much wear and tear as a 27-year old who already played 8 or 9 full years in the NHL

I dislike the idea of moving Kreider just to sign Panarin. The same arguments which apply to them moving on from Kreider should apply to them not signing Panarin.

Being ~ ten years older than anyone they are going to draft in 2019 is a gap where it's almost inevitable the older will be exiting their prime while the younger are just entering theirs.

Great job guys, I have not listened to the whole thing yet, but great work all the same, Thanks for doing this.

With all the positive reactions to this, I am confident we will do this again with @Edge. maybe we can even invite different members. @Joey Bones is someone I hope wants to join us after the draft for a recap maybe

I'm an older (40+ years old...closer to 50 than 40) Rangers fan that has literally lurked here daily for more years than I care to count. I signed up today just to respond to this post. Thank you for this...I'm about 2/3 through this and it is just fantastic. Job well done by all involved. A wonderful listen. Again, thank you.

Was Mats Zuccarello ever as good as Panarin? Would a 20% drop in Panarins average production still be better than the best season in Zuccarello's career? What about a 30% drop?
