Lombardi can't be happy with Kopitar after these last few days, then having a game like that.

Granland was steaming to the net with built up speed. Carter was a little caught in no mans land. Would have liked him to attempt to impede Granland's attack.

Anyway... Kopitar aside.. They put 4 up on the leading Vezina candidate. So that's a good sign. Win tomorrow and move on.

Doughty was behind him when he glanced back. Doughty then split off to the side. Granlund attacked Kopitar, and Kopitar still saw 3 Wild in front of him. By the time he looked back, Doughty was not behind him.

Bad miscommunication. I'm not saying Kopitar's not at fault. And if it makes people feel better to just pile on that play, fine. But Drew and to a lesser extent Carter ****ed that all up by moving off and not communicating in time if at all.

The problem is that Kopitar has become the lightning rod because of that goal total. Every mistakes he makes is going to be bigger because of it. Is it fair? Probably not, but of course it's going to be him flailing on the ice on that goal, because that's his season.

I'm sorry, which of those things did he not do? Carter and Doughty could have done better, but neither of them have been a complete **** show, well, all season.

Kopitar loses the draw cleanly, Koyvu kicks his legs out and he stumbles, runs into Carter, sorts thing out only to go to the wrong side off the puck , Grandlund blows right by him, then has the best view of the GWG as he slides face first into the goal. You can say what you want about the other guys, but it all started with the 10 mil dollar man sucking bigtime.

So much so that Hanzal was taken off of Kopitar and put onto Shore late in the game.

Good signs--Nick Shore had a good game, seems to actually have good offensive instincts when with offensive players like Gaborik, who played well. Scratch Kopi and hope he responds like Gaborik. 4 goals on Dubnyk vs the Wild at home is good. Quick saved some sure goals that would have buried us long before OT. I liked Drew's assertiveness with the puck all night, he's really reminding me of his second year with all the charging down ice, and maybe we were spoiled by him defensively last year but he's still been great this year. I really hope LaDue is back soon.

Then again, 3 of 4 points vs. the Ducks and Wild, so.
