Looks like were done playing Ottawa this season... but it would be nice if that POS Burrows would pick a fight with Kopitar again to jump start his heart.

Two words for Quick: poke check.

Try it sometime... :shakehead

Got home just in time to see the last 2 soft goals Quick gave up, and then watched him fold again in OT. Not a good start to say the least.

So you didn't watch the game? Or the numerous saves he made to keep us in it? Hmm?

Maybe they need to check Kopi for a concussion, his reaction time out there is starting to look like Richards his last couple of years

It's always 11-77-8 for OT's unless they're out there for the last shift of regulation. Tonight they looked great right until they dropped the puck to start OT.
The 2nd group is either 73-70-27 or 70-23-6. No real need for a center until there's a faceoff, which don't happen that much inn OT.

Thanks, I didn't remember the combos well.

Rosamund! ROSAMUND!! ROSAMUND!!!

JK!

I'm down for both Kid Rock and Axl Rose. Heh.

Burn it all down!! We lost. Season over.

Reset tomorrow. Same place, same time?

Tell you what, change that avatar (and a quick google search does, in fact, confirm it's Axl -- yuck) back to Rosamund and I'll leave for a week.

Is that cool?

Also, I'm not standing anywhere. I'm slovenly slouched on my couch, drinking a beer and watching the 2017 Oscar winner for best picture, Moonlight.

Dude...

Hang in there Kings fans. Kopi can turn it around. He's a world class player. It's not unlike Bergeron and Toews - both of them had a very tough first 3 months of the season but they've both turned it around and are playing like themselves again. Kopi can do that too. Will he? I don't know but have some faith in your captain.

It's L.A. We're prone to nervous breakdowns from time to time. ;)

Not a fan of hair metal. Except, maybe, Journey, if you count them. And a couple Bon Jovi diddies.

Go Kings?

edit -- LOL I listed journey, i have no idea how this wasn't called out. i was such an ass in this thread. way off on GnR. thankfully this is a distant memory

This team still doesn't have an identity. Just a collection of overpaid, overrated players with a sprinkling of young cheap roster fillers. I'll say this though, Kempe looks like the real deal and might be the first DL draftee to turn into a all-star forward.

Kopitar struggles have been ongoing since Oct , when 2 things changed for him, a new 80M contract and the weight of the Captaincy. Not every player, no matter how elite, adapts and adjusts to pressure. With that new contract and that 'C' comes an enormous amount of pressure and expectations on his shoulders. I think it's the weight of that , not an injury, that is the cause of the mire. The team struggling all year trying to make the playoffs after 2 prior years of failure only add to that.
How many times have you heard a player (and he's been one of them) say how hard the mental challenge is to overcome when you're struggling? With that C, it's not just a solo scoring slump he's facing, its the team's failings as well. And it's around him all the time. It might not be this year, but he'll have to come to terms with it, square his shoulders and bear the weight.

Not sure what people are seeing in Kempe.

The Kid gives up the puck Oscar Moller style easy, when a defender breathes on him. Also never had, probably never will, have a scoring touch.

He is young though, may develop into a 10-15G type of player. Kempe had 19 points in 43 AHL games when brought up, that's not exactly good, or even above average.

Teddy Purcell who is a corpse at this point in the NHL, had 22 points in 22 games in the AHL....

Not sure what you are seeing. He looks quite promising to me.

Keep Dowd expose Kopitar for expansion

There wouldn't be as much anger at Kopi if he hadn't absolutely refused to negotiate on the $10 million contract. If you act like Take It or Leave It and then immediately have the offensive production of a fourth-liner, people are less inclined to cut you some slack.

Now he needs to do it like Dewey and immediately forget about his mistakes and ace the next one. Stop gripping the stick so tightly.

Crappy OT. A win in Calgary would get this road trip 3 of 4 points, good enough for a 95 pt season. Unfortunately, Kings also missed the playoffs with 95 points in 2015. We're gonna need help from around the league on Calgary and Nashville.

Maybe you need a new pair of glasses, I don't know but I see Kempe with elite speed that very few in the NHL have. He's been blowing by guys like their traffic cones, creating scoring opportunities for himself and teammates. He's only 20, he'll hit the weights and the game will slow down for him. Kempe has way more talent than Purcell and Moller combined. Please.
