Hayes doesnt chase his chip in even with a empty net? You cant only send 1 forechecker when you have a empty net.

Nice to see Buch and Shatty hustling on that very last play. I respect that.

Hayes has to give a better effort on that Kadri goal.

If we get Montoya in net tomorrow there is no reason to lose. I can forgive and forget these two Losses. But tomorrow is a game i fully expect to win.

I kind of knew the first period had a very good chance of being a crapshow. It was.
The team is going to improve. I like a lot of what I see tonight but they just look out of tune so far. I think coaching and familiarity amongst players will help as they get more games under their belt.
The being ready to start a game has plagued them for a while. We see it a lot.

Not being ready to start a game and allowing 5 goals in the first period is inexcusable in the pro level.
Every camp is an experiment and this offence is the best defence approach is a bunch of bs.
I don't care if you're the most conditioned athlete in the world. It's not humanly possible to keep up with the pace of this so called system and GMJG seemed to have totally bought into this disaster.
It's a joke really..

I want to agree, but I'm worried it's largely confirmation bias. Would love to do some statistical analyses on the topic if I ever get a break from school work.
 
Shattenkirk was totally woeful that third period and Smith really needs to get back to where he was last year.
 
Maybe another 2013-2014 start but Hank was much more capable then. Idk team has some big flaws especially with pk.
 
Can't play 20 mins and expect to win. The middle was 20 was fun but there are some horrible mistakes occurring when we try to defend.
It's nice having a PP that looks dangerous.

We need to learn how to stay out of the box

Saw plenty of good. Their offense was never in question.

Will always question the mental fortitude of this team. It's a fact that this is the worst start we've seen from them in 10 years.

They're not gonna win the lottery. They're a beyond talented team. This was a mess though.

2013-2014 was worst start didn't the Sharks play with us early in the season?

They show is face at least 4 times a game . What more proof do you need? His actual thoughts? To be in a team meeting where he isn’t giving a Dolan directed canned response?

Oh I fully agree. It's like giving away a third of the game. That adds up when you consider how often they have done it.
Sports psychologist neeeded? I dunno but they need to fix/reduce it.
 
Whelp. 2 games, 2 embarrassing losses.

Terrible challenge by AV. No replay showed that as offsides, and with the rule change you can't hail mary it on a key goal against anymore. Spiraled out of control (again) from there.

I guess going into Toronto you’ve got to assume the Leafs get three power plays for every one the visitor gets. It’s not right but it’s to be expected.
Also the Leafs took the momentum from the jump. Which tends to lead to power plays.

Actual numbers that show our decrease in performance when leading vs. losing is noticably worse than that of other teams?

But hey, feel free to base your opinions on people's expressions.

That literally was a brutal challenge. The second I saw the replay it was clear as day they wouldn't turn that over, he clearly went into the zone with the puck, possession or not it didn't matter. That is poor coaching at it's finest.

Habs at MSG up next. Price was zapped tonight by the Caps and was yanked. Plus they are probably looking for a little revenge from last spring.

Lundqvist will have have to steal one. Doubt Price gets lit up two straight games.

Three of the four CF teams from last year are a combined 1-5-1 to start. And the fourth -- Anaheim -- had to rally late in its only game to nip Arizona.
