That call on Hayes was horrendous and the Leafs had multiple times with worse slashes or holds. To call something on the Rangers this late after not having an equalizer is unacceptable.
Lot of high scoring games in the first few all around the NHL. Anyone making outrageous statements about any team and how good/bad they will be (minus Vegas and a select few others) need to relax. The sample size is just way too small at this point. It's still very early.
More about the future. Bitching a ton, mentioning why you think the ref got it wrong, may get the ref to swallow the whistle next time there's a similar situation. And it does happen frequently in sports if you get enough complaining to the refs.I still don’t understand: why do players protest penalty calls, if they’re not reviewable?
Five goals, and we're not finishing?
Is this the new standard?
Damn...
This "can't finish" is another common NHL trope, e.g. "Backup Hasek". The Rangers are, and have been, one of the best finishing teams in the NHL for several years now. If not the best.Five goals, and we're not finishing?

Instinct. And as long as you don't say anything really dumb, there's no rule against it, so there's no real downside.I still don’t understand: why do players protest penalty calls, if they’re not reviewable?
Uh no thanksI still say:
Nick Holden to the Flames for Curtis Lazar and Hunter Shinkaruk
Perhaps; I just wonder if it doesn’t just irritate the refs instead and. “He can’t be a pain in the ass from the penalty box ...”More about the future. we continue to miss chances
last night it was a **** show of missed chances.
we got 5 thats good, but the difference in this game has been our inability to finish good scoring chances.
