Maybe Gibbons should try putting Cecil in low key situations until he gets his confidence back, similar to what he did to him last year after Cecil blew a couple of saves and lost his closer role to Osuna. Jays really need both Loup and Morales to recover from injuries quickly.

The unfortunate part is who are you going to put in? Storen has been awful, Cecil has been awful, those are supposed to be your 2 reliable guys minus Osuna. If he puts Tepera, Biagini or Floyd in and they blow people are going to freak out anyway. This bullpen mess is strictly on the guys in it, Gibbons is basically screwed no matter what he does.

I don't think anyone would blame him for not using Cecil at this point

Floyd has been our best reliever. He should be getting the high leverage innings over Storen as of right now.

Francisco Rios has a 33/5 K/BB ratio through 24.1 innings at Lansing.

Yeah he's come out of nowhere for me. I mean I saw his name in Vancouver last year, but his numbers weren't great so I thought he was more minor league fodder not a legit prospect.

Now I'm hearing talks of a new, lesser "Lansing 3" in him, SRF and Perdomo

I mean he's turned himself into a legitimate prospects maybe. But nothing in that sort of range.

That was obvious interference, I'm not sure how that was missed, I think the umpires will have some explaining to do, good thing it didn't cost the outcome.

I didn't overly care given the score but if the game was still 1-1 or 2-1, I would have been pretty pissed. Obvious interference. Where was the runner supposed to go?

We should try to resign Cecil for really cheap right now. I mean if he rebounds like last year he's gonna get a lot in free agency, and he's not this bad of a pitcher. Maybe we can trick him into taking a steal of a contract.

I'm a big floyd fan but any manager who changes bullpen roles based on a month of data is an idiot.

yup, looks like another one of AA's high upside fast risers. a whole bunch more of these kinds of guys waiting for short season ball to start.

I follow Jays prospects pretty closely, but last year, every time he had a good start for Vancouver I would think to myself "Meh, he's just a guy" the same way I would when someone like Jeremy Gabryszwski or Casey Lawrence has a good start. Having looked into him a bit more (at least enough to see that he's a young guy with upside), he's definitely an interesting prospect to follow.

I remember correctly, Cecil had a bad April last year and was great by June, if he still sucks in May then you can worry, but it'stoo early now.

Yup
Martin and Goins have been brutal at the plate
And the bullpen for the most part has been abysmal

I really like Martin but am worried about him at the plate. wRC+ of 1, walk and k rates doubled. .ISO down. I'll give him unil his 100 ab's then decide but unless he's injured again this is concerning.

Martin is a very overrated offensive player. His career averages aren't THAT great. We saw one of his best years last year.
