Also we did a really good job with Pettersson. He made a few plays but that’s gonna happen, overall though he didn’t control the game.

lol it wasn't really a serious comment, more of a jab at Joe.

But yeah, that game was not ok.

All summer I was crucified for saying tanking was gonna suck. Now I'm crucified for being the only one upset about a bad win. What are we doing here? A little consistency would be great,.

Your stance would be better if you didn't also complain when we had bad wins when we were not rebuilding. You can't fool us. ;)

Is signing Hayes longterm a bad thing? Zucc is gone.

It’s wasting as asset when you have a better player in Zibanejad signed long term, two centers in Howden and Andersson on the way, and the potential for another center to be added in the upcoming draft.

I kinda get what Machinehead is saying though.

A lot of people kind of says it tongue and cheek now, but you can almost sense the posts about signing Zucc and Hayes coming, or about making a trade of someone comes on the market.

So I “get” where he’s coming from.

I just don't want to re-establish the same culture we had from 2012-2017 of #FindingAWay.

It was fun and it had it's time. I want the finished product to be dominating, not finding a way.

I don't want our young players to see that being outplayed is rewarded as long as you try hard. Although, I do have hope that Quinn isn't accepting this. He has high expectations which I like.

I never believed this team was bad enough to tank their way to a high pick, so winning these games against the tank doesn't bother me at all. Sure it would be nice to pick high, but I'd rather see us win even the bad ones.

No, I hated it then too.

Teams that consistently find a way to steal bad games don't win anything in this league.

We should be the Raiders and have guys literally saying “we have to get the f*** outta here” IMHO

How we gonna win without that

I imagine people are less bothered by the actual point and more by how it's broadcasted.

I think this team will fall to earth.

I think the rookies will have ups and downs, and this team is finding ways to win right now. But I don’t necessarily see an approach or a depth of talent that makes me think it’s sustainable.

Having said that, the growth of the kids is essential. They have to grow and they have to become NHL players. And they are.

Your last paragraph is the key: the kids, even young vets like Mika and Hayes, are taking another step in their games and helping the organization take a step forward. It’s two-fold too, whether it’s with guys pumping up their trade value or with kids solidifying roles and spots in the lineup.

The regression to the mean will happen eventually. It’ll be a good test for the kids to challenge their mental resiliency.

No, I don't expect them to make the playoffs and certainly not to be buyers at the deadline.

It's just very grating at this point. For years and years now this team has been rewarded in the standings for bad hockey. I suppose the common denominator is the generational talent in the crease.

And again, everyone is happy with a win and nobody wants to talk about it, I understand that. I'm in the minority in that regard, I understand that too.

But it's unhealthy that they win games they shouldn't. It's so much more than losing for a pick. It's unhealthy in terms of management's outlook, although I hope you're right in that management just keeps going right along with the plan. It's also unhealthy in terms of our culture. I don't want our young players to learn that this is what it takes to win anything of significance in this league. The funny thing is, people will spin it the exact opposite way. They fought hard. They found a way.

I don't want our next core of players finding a way. I want them kicking teams' teeth in.
I think Quinn has this team working it's ass off and coming back hard to defend. I think it's a huge work in progress but I also think he's got them on the right path.

It absolutely does NOT feel like Henrik is stealing us games we don't deserve to win. It feels like there's a lot of 50 50 games and we happen to be miracleing ourselves to victory. To me that's a key distinction between what I saw the past few years and what I'm seeing now.

All while we're icing 5..6? rookies and DeAngelo whose basically a rookie himself.

That's impressive.

The King was actually pretty weak tonight outside the last 10.

@Machinehead have some good points though; we could easy lose this game, but we had some good bounces again, and 2nd. period was not well played. I believe it`s too early in the season to predict anything and 20 mins. of good hockey is not enough to convince me at least.

I mention we looked like a playoffs team in the 3rd period when they played much better, but you expect much more from a team if they have plans to reach playoffs this season.

Anyway it`s too late here and I need sleep, a fun game to watch, until later! :)
