I’m watching the CBJ DAL game, Torts just lost his mind on the bench with the refs after a S.Jones hit.

He fought so hard not to scream at the ref “*** YOU!!!!!”

I love me some Torts

Tort's looks like the short dude at the bar going ...

Omfg I wish someone would just say some shit to me. I'd f***ing love that shit!

They're not making the playoffs. I can't believe many people believe we are.

I'm enjoying the ride, but no, I don't expect this to last. I had them pegged as a bottom 7 team...and I still stand by it. Tough part of the schedule is still in front of us, and we've been healthy.

I don't think they are bottom 3 bad..but I also don't think this is a playoff team, and I'd be floored if they weren't sellers at the deadline regardless.

Somewhere in the 4-7 range in my book.

I cringe a little because I think people will be especially hard on this bunch if/when that happens and that’s too bad because these kids are doing really well for how young they are.

I kinda get it though.

It’s aweaome the kids are performing and that’s what you want to see.

But this team looks like a team that could easily go on the opposite of this streak in short order.

So there’s a balance to be had.
I meant towards Vancouver. He straight up attacked Virtanen. Then I couldn’t tell if he was mocking Vancouver with “Vancouver scouts did a real great job finding Pettersson at 5th overall.”

It's crazy all the negativity. Yeah I understand one or two posts mentioning how we had a poor first period but can we enjoy the Game Chytil or even the game Howden had. Wasn't that mostly the point of this rebuild? Chytil was flying out there. What did he have 6 or 7 shots? In a game where there really wasn't much space out there.

Chytil showed his upside tonight.

He’s gonna be ridiculously good in his prime.
For his size he's a real good skater. Makes some real neat subtle plays in the offensive zone that you just can't teach

They probably end up picking 6/7th when it's all said and done.

Yeah, I didn't get that either. His tone wasn't sarcastic at all but if he was sincere I'm not sure how difficult it was for Vancouver to "find" Pettersson when they were picking 5th overall.

I kinda get what Machinehead is saying though.

A lot of people kind of says it tongue and cheek now, but you can almost sense the posts about signing Zucc and Hayes coming, or about making a trade of someone comes on the market.

So I “get” where he’s coming from.

Those posts are already here. I have faith that Gorton has other plans. This defense is still a tire fire.

Quote me on this:

If the Rangers nose dive, this happy fandom will take the biggest digital shit on this core in the history of RangersTown™

No, I don't expect them to make the playoffs and certainly not to be buyers at the deadline.

It's just very grating at this point. For years and years now this team has been rewarded in the standings for bad hockey. I suppose the common denominator is the generational talent in the crease.

And again, everyone is happy with a win and nobody wants to talk about it, I understand that. I'm in the minority in that regard, I understand that too.

But it's unhealthy that they win games they shouldn't. It's so much more than losing for a pick. It's unhealthy in terms of management's outlook, although I hope you're right in that management just keeps going right along with the plan. It's also unhealthy in terms of our culture. I don't want our young players to learn that this is what it takes to win anything of significance in this league. The funny thing is, people will spin it the exact opposite way. They fought hard. They found a way.

I don't want our next core of players finding a way. I want them kicking teams' teeth in.

We've seen this movie before with this team winning games they have no business winning.

It's fun winning and nobody wants to dissect it, I get that. Nobody wanted this team to win over the summer more than I did, everyone forgets that.

But if they're going to steal games, they might as well lose. If Vancouver didn't hit every post in the tri-state area, they're down 4-1 in this game.

Yes and totally disregard the couple goal mouth chances the Rangers didn't score on though. It wasn't as one sided as you make it out to be.

It's just entertainment - at least for me. If we were 0-18 right now, but the kids were improving and we were mostly losing games by 1 goal and the team was playing hard, I'd be fine. If we're winning too much to have a chance at Hughes/Kakko et al and the kids are improving and the team is playing hard, I'm fine too. The only time I'm not happy with the team is when they're clearly phoning it in. If they're playing hard, the wins and losses don't matter that much, because it's still entertaining to watch, which for me, is the entire point.

I wasn't remotely entertained by that, but that's just me.

Montreal last week was entertaining.
