Good for the kid, maybe he’ll get a look at the WJC roster next year
Yeah and also NCAA programs play two games against the same opponent at the same venue per weekend, traditionally. So they're only traveling at all half the time, and when they do travel it's just out on Friday and then back on Sunday.he'd be a college freshman if he was an ordinary US student? A college hockey season is pretty long but has far fewer games and more practice and working out. I think a good D1 school probably plays about 40 games more or less. That is over a roughly seven month span (October to April) so about 6 games per month. Beyond that, if college hockey is like most other US D1 sports the team works out virtually every day and practices about five days a week. An athlete probably puts in about five hours per day in season outside of games. I'm not sure how that compares in terms of total time to a CHL schedule but the NCAA is much more of a practice and workout skewed schedule I'm guessing.
I wish his season would end at the completion of this month so he can train for 5 months prior to attending Devils rookie camp/Canada U20 camp. I truely believe the seasons are too long in the CHL.
Slow down with Bratt.Filmon really deserves a lot of hype. I looked at the goal leaders of the entire CHL where he is 9th place and the players above him other then Bedard and Barlow are all older then him AND play in the Quebec league which generally is easier to score in.
The fact that he's a string bean makes me think that once he puts on some weight and muscle he will be doing even better next season. It's a bit early but there is a chance that Filmon could be the Devils best 6th round pick. (overtaking bratt)
What’s the ceiling on this kid? Does he have top-6 potential?another goal. 32nd of the year.
Out of curiosity, who did you want with that pick instead?Gonna be eating crow for a while on this one I hope.

Bratt is a bonafide 1st line winger. Filmon has a LONG way to go before we even start to think about that type of prediction.
On the main board thread it was suggested his skating needs work. He’s grown so much the past couple of years and is still filling out so we probably won’t have a real idea of what he might be capable of until he is done growing. What’s the ceiling on this kid? Does he have top-6 potential?
I do, Perhaps you should use the thing between your ears and understand that saying someone could be better then Bratt isn't a dunk on him at all.You really don’t realize how good Bratt is…
Sucks when people don't read who their quoting.Bratt is a bonafide 1st line winger. Filmon has a LONG way to go before we even start to think about that type of prediction.
He could, sure, but it’ll take some years to assess that and as it currently stands the likelihood is very very slim. Bratts skating alone sets him apart.I do, Perhaps you should use the thing between your ears and understand that saying someone could be better then Bratt isn't a dunk on him at all.

I said "could"
That is not a prediction
