Also directly caused a goal against
And cost us the game when he pulled a Hayes and just held onto the puck instead of passing to spooner who would've had a gaping net in OT
Yeah, his play on the second goal against was bad bad bad.

Pionk is good with the pick on his stick, he can do some good things but he’s not perfect. A lot of people are getting way ahead of themselves about Pionk. He’s good but raw and he’s a significant about of improvement to go.

I do find it funnny seeing a lot of the same people complaining about Shatty being horrible in the D zone but praising Pionk. I think Shatty is better than Pionk in the D zone in just about every way aside from foot speed.

He’s a good talented young player but he still has a lot to learn. He really needs to be sheltered a little more instead of getting tough D deployments. He needs some help in growing his game and the best way to do that is to get sheltered minutes.

I hate the loser point.

I do sometimes wonder if it throws off the perception people have of what a losing record looks like.

It goes back to something that was discussed in another thread. There’s this perception that a “tanked” season looks like a record of 20-60-2, when in reality it could look like 35-39-8.

At first glance people see that record and focus on the first two columns. It looks like the team only lost 4 more games than it won.

In reality it lost 12 more games than it won and only finished with 78 points.

So I think people look at a record like 7-8-1 and it looks reasonable. But over an 82 game schedule that works out to about a 35 win season and a bottom 5 finish.

You should never get a point for losing. I'd prefer you get 2 points if you win in reg or ot and 1 if you win in the shootout, 0 if you lose in any way.

You wanna bet.

Funny thing is that it typically does.

We’ve seen that with trades and drafts, and most, but not all, issues on here.

Usually by the next day, people kind of come around, typically apologize for being jerks the night before, and then start seeing that they are neither knocking on heaven’s door or standing at the threshold to hell.

But they're 7-7-2, so your argument is bogus. :sarcasm:

Quinn has to get over playing these kids less than 8/9 minutes a game. Trust them a bit more. We aren't winning the cup this year.

The question then becomes: at whose expense? Are we going to move Hayes, Ziba or Howden (who’s been playing well) to the fourth? If I’m not mistaken, Hayes plays RW as well, but the other two are natural centers. It’s a pickle.

Never been a fan of letting the inmates run the asylum.

As a board we’ve been there and tried that and it takes us multiple years to clear away the layers of **** left by people who disappear when it becomes painfully obvious that beyond hot takes and reactions that they don’t know hockey from a hole in the middle of their asses.

And because sometimes, after much gnashing of teeth, there are people who begin to get it and actually become part of the solution as to the nearly 20 year old question as to how we make a better, more insightful board.

So no. I will continue to call bull**** on the tantrums and more insane ramblings on here and like usual the cooler heads will prevail over the long haul.

You know.. Edge..As much as I respect you as a poster, and keep in mind that you have from time to time made me look at certain scenarios in a completely different, positive way but not everyone is going to always buy into your everything is all rosy, sunshine stuff 100% of the time philosophy like your word is law.
Again.. Much respect but this team is compete shit and going no where fast.
There's no disputing that so take a deep breath amigo.
I don't like this current management group... Period.
You want to disagree?
Be my guest..

Extremely frustrated with this Chytil situation.
I get Quinn wanting to watch his minutes and shelter him to an extent, but man, Zucc being out injured is the perfect opportunity to get him some top 6 minutes, but instead they trot our Spooner who hasn't done a single good thing all season.
