Kid can't come soon enough. Muk coming over last spring has given me hope.

Was an article not too long ago where Gritsyuk was talking about how he pays some attention to us and his future here. Also think there was some mention of him talking with Muk about when he came over last year. You never know with Russian players, but seeing as his contact is up over there Fitz has to get this kid in the fold.

Not worried about Gritsyuk or Muhk not coming here to play. I'm sure they will be in Utica 100% next season to start the year. We are thin at forward when it comes to scoring forwards with legit top 6 upside aside from Holtz. Gritsyuk , Clarke , Thompson & Filmon are possibilities. Girtysuk has progressed well since we took him even though this year he slumped a bit compared to last.

In general, it is logical - in such a form \ with such a level, he has nothing to do in the AHL, for the NHL his 200-foot game isn`t on the asking level, offensive game can still be polished in the KHL against more serious opponents.

If it's one more year ok....but damn....really thought he was coming over this year.

Sure seems like MacKinnon is referring to a multi-year extension.

He compares him to Kaprizov, who came over at age 23, and Kuzmenko, who came at age 26.

Plus I don’t really hear of many 1 year extensions of KHL players, it seems like 2-3 year deals are more the norm.

I could easily be completely wrong about that, what the hell do I know, our Intrepid Russian Board Insider can tell us more.

I wouldn’t even argue this is necessarily the wrong move, hopefully it’s just 2 years (because I’m impatient), but his KHL team may want more.

The gif was showing how deflating the news was emotionally, I stand by that emotional response lol.

But watch out NHL, we’re keeping our powder dry!

It's a bummer for me because we are watching this kid and his talent in real time then being told it might be a few more years til he comes over is a buzzkill. I hope he doesn't wait til he's 25-26.

Intrepid?
I have no insides about his potential sign. Kaprisov signed 2 years deal and 3 years deal after, Kuzmenko signed 4 years deal with CSKA. I don`t remember his previous deals.

Never expect a Russian kid to come right over and thankfully we don’t necessarily need Gritsyuk like the Wild needed Kaprizov. Just imagine in a few years when Nico is 26, Jack is 23, Luke and Nemec have been up awhile, Bratt and Meier are god willingly here and then Gritsyuk shows up. We’ll be as Brian Cashman once quipped about his Yankees lineup, a “fully functional Death Star”

MacKinnon said a year or two, so we’re assuming he’s soft-pedaling 2 years. Definitely discouraging, as I was hoping to see him playing professionally in NA by the end of next year.
