Poor guy is no longer gonna have Muk here to help him adjust and the other Russian that we had in Okhotiuk got traded as well.

Sometimes I forget about Gritsyuk. Glad he wasn't a throw in with the Meiere trade though. Wish we had a crystal ball to see what he turns out to be for us in 2 years.

FYI first round of his playoffs start Thursday. His team is 3rd seed in their division playing 6th but they’re only 3 points apart with the standings really tight in the middle.

If they got swept he would be done next Tuesday. If they lose in the first round any other way he would likely be done by the 14th.
If the plans for him to come to NA ASAP he is likely not too far off unless his team goes on a deep run.

It sounded like the plan is for Gritsyuk to re-sign with his KHL team and come over when he’s older like Kaprizov did.

The interview is probably back a bit in this thread (I’m running out of steam after Timomania so I don’t have the energy to dig it up).

Really? Must have missed that. Would prefer he came over sooner rather than later but it’s fine either way.

Yeah Fitz said he will be there for another year or two but the player wants to eventually come here. It's more of a mutual let me develop over here so we can possibly skip any AHL time. KHL uses North American sized ice now so that is a plus. Should give teams a better read on players over there when it comes to skating and decision making.

It seems like Gritsyuk hasn't played any playoff games so far. Anyone know why? I've seen the posts above about getting married, but hard to tell if that happened when the tweets were posted.

Have a wife to come over with you to the states in a couple of years should make the transition quite a bit easier.

ya hopefully they can get this guy over here within the next couple years to see what hes got & whether or not hes the real deal.. thats always the factor for the russian guys, can they adapt to the elevated competition plus the obvious smaller ice.

Nearly every KHL rink is the same 200'x85' size the NHL plays with at this point.

Arseniy will sign 1 or 2 years deal with Avangard. He wants (and we know that Devils manegement thinks the same way) to mature his game more.
Details will be coming soon.
Hopefully a 1 year deal and then re-evaluate again at this point next season.
