I don't see Hughes actually playing when he gets here this year tbh.
I’m not sure what to expect, but if he’s one of our best 3 LD he should play.

What in the world are you talking about? Nobody should be pencilling Holtz or Gritsyuk out. Although Holtz is a better prospect despite having skating issues too. Better shooter and playmaker by far.So let`s pencil out Holtz because of that and now we don`t have good offensive prospects.
And let's clarify - "a bit overrated" or "most overrated"? I want to understand what I have to come back to later.
On here and some other places I’ve seen he is.idt he's overrated by fans - i think most normal fans forget he even exists, tbh
I completely disagree on the skating. The mechanics on it don’t look good and he doesn’t seem to get around all that great. I don’t think he should be given a shot. Should be brought over and then earned if he shows he’s good enough.I mean the KHL is a tough league that’s difficult to score in, especially for a younger player. Getting excited for a prospect that is playing well and exceeding their draft slot doesn’t mean you’re overrating them.
I think his skating and hands look great, but that’s just me. Don’t see what you lose by giving him a few games with the big club when he comes over.
No offense, but I'm not interested. Gritsyuk has enough problems, he has something to work on and he has shortcomings that will probably still affect his path to the NHL, but This is not an analysis for him at all. What in the world are you talking about? Gritsyuk is definitely overrated by devils fans who like his KHL numbers and he might be our most overrated prospect. Skillset isn’t that great. Should definitely bring him over and see what he can do but shouldn’t be pencilling him in as anything.
Uhh...You do know that Captain wasn't exactly endorsing Grits, right? No offense, but I'm not interested. Gritsyuk has enough problems, he has something to work on and he has shortcomings that will probably still affect his path to the NHL, but This is not an analysis for him at all.
Anyway everyone can have their own opinion.
In other words, you are evaluating not so much the specific level of the player, but the level of someone else's judgment about the game of this player.Uhh...You do know that Captain wasn't exactly endorsing Grits, right?
When you call someone overrated, that means you don't have a high opinion of that player nor believe he's as good as others make him out to be.
EXACTLY.In other words, you are evaluating not so much the specific level of the player, but the level of someone else's judgment about the game of this player.
I didn’t make it for you specifically. Just my personal opinion based off of what I’ve seen from him.No offense, but I'm not interested. What in gods name are you talking about? I gave my analysis of what I think of Gritsyuk as a prospect and said I don’t think he’s as good of a prospect as people on here seem to think. I’m genuinely really confused as what you’re even trying to say. A personal preference is a dumb way of evaluating a player? What does that mean lol?EXACTLY.
It's personal preference basically, which is a pretty dumb way of evaluating a player.
If he can score at least a goal or two, he's already better than Haula.Gritsyuk isn't a blue chip prospect. I don't think anyone is realistically thinking he will be a 1st line forward but he has potential to be a 2nd or 3rd line forward with some skill. Yeah he won't be a penalty killer or anything but he might have the offensive upside of a 40-50 point player which isn't bad considering where we drafted him. He could maybe be a replacement for the Tatar/Haula/Palat type of depth.
Gritsyuk has a decent skill level to my eyes. He’s only 21 and was a top six player on the WJC team that featured some good players. He is feisty and fearless. His skating looks ok to me in terms of keeping up with play. I’d expect him to have a chance to be the player NJ was hoping they had in Johnsson. He has a way to go but let’s see. If he could play a short end of season stint with Utica after thr KHL ends its season that would give him a sense of where he stands and he can go from there.Gritsyuk isn't a blue chip prospect. What I took from it was that he is concerned that NJ is grooming him to play on the third line with Hischier. So does this mean he's coming over?
DAAAAAMN...
That shot was so fast, the Goaltender didn't have time to even begin to move.
It``s not crazy awesome, but it`s good. "NHL potential".Is this good? Honestly asking
