Should we be excited he played really well?

Or should we be disappointed he did not make the U25 team?

Or excited that he performed better than most on the U25 team?

Or disappointed that he still didn't even make the U25 team when they are bad?

.....

What time of year does the KHL usually end?

Would love to bring him over at the end of this season, and maybe he could get some NHL games in at the end of the year.

I think the regular season ends in late February, so even if Omsk don't go far into the playoffs, it's a lot to ask to get him over in time to play NHL games, especially if there's any issue at all with visas.

So if Omsk were to miss playoffs (They most likely won't) he could theoretically get here in late March, and play in like 5-10 games.

Yes, but they haven't missed the playoffs in like 8 years or something. Only the bottom 3 teams in each conference don't make the playoffs this year.

More likely would be if Utica makes a playoff run again, he might be able to play a game or two there like Mukhamadullin.

Do you know what the team is and who they’re playing?

There are no KHL players on the team because they’re a series of games against KHL teams. Gritsyuk was the 3rd leading scoring on his KHL team, they played the U25 team.

This is to give Juniors players a replacement for the U20 they’re banned from.

This kid needs to pan out with Bratt potentially not being here in 2 years. 1 more year in the KHL and hopefully he is good enough to jump straight to the NHL in 2023-24 seaaon.
I hope, though, that Bratt signs a long-term deal and this becomes moot because it puts undue pressure on Grits to pan out. The kid's got enough on his plate as it is.

What do we think his floor and ceiling is?

Very wide range. Anything from bust to one of the best wingers in the NHL. IMO at this point there's a very good chance that he'll be a productive top six winger. If he pans out, Bratt, Holtz, Sharangovich, and Gritsyuk could be an absolutely deadly set of scoring wingers.

Are players this young and this productive in the KHL almost always standouts in the NHL? Or almost always NHL careers? Or is this a situation where, if I looked up a list of all-time scoring around that age, there will be 5-10 names I know well but then 5-10 I barely or dont know at all?

Trying to understand what we have here in this kid
