You might be right, but Getzlaf is a free agent this summer.

No way in HELL I'd trade 2 1st round picks for 48 games of Getzlaf. Heck even if he agrees to a contract extension I'd have a tough time doing it... no way otherwise.

aren't they saying that won't be until Saturday and then training camp starts Sunday?

Considering it will only be a 4 day camp at most i can't imagine GMs waiting until Saturday to make moves.....could be wishful thinking

Burke should wait until the summer, with cap going down, teams having issues, free agent frenzy will be tempered and we can get some reasonable deals I'd assume.

Deputy commissioner Bill Daly tells The Canadian Press that the ratification process for a new CBA should be completed on Saturday, which would allow for camps to open the following day.

Can't wait until we get our hands on a copy.

i dont think it's Burkes ass at all this year... He has this season and next IMHO...

MLSE isn't going to fire a guy that helped design this new CBA... This new CBA fits perfectly to the way Burke conducts business... Not only do i think he has 2 years to make the playoff BUT i think we have a HUGE advantage with Burke over the next 8-10 years.

Patience with Burke is the key to success! He has made good trades, good draft picks and added good prospects. He never caved under the pressure of the Toronto media and fan base to sign one of those stupid contracts that are now going to haunt every team that did.

Agreed. Stating the obvious that MLSE probably would like the Leafs to be considering more a of a contender at this stage of Burke's tenure, but find it hard to believe they would be looking to ship him out this year or even next, if things dont drastically improve. Some good pieces are now in place, just need to remian a little more patient.

Sorry, on my phone should have been more clear. Tony interviewed Lu in Florida then came on The FAN. He said from the way Lu talked about the situation it seems to him that Lu knows something is going to happen with the Leafs.
