Speculation: 12/13' Trades/Proposals: Short season is better than none, now for trades.

Might be tricky to find a team that wants Lombardi after such a bad season, but I definitely think a few teams would be interested in Connolly. He can be an effective player when healthy. They're both UFAs at the end of this season so it's not like teams would be acquiring players with long contracts.
 
Looks like the Blackhawks will be in cap hell next season and I wonder if they could pry Sharp out of there. Sharp would fit well on a line with Kessel and Lupul.

Maybe send Connolly and other parts to help alleviate their cap trouble next year

I think he'd cost too much for us in a trade. They can't take back a lot of salary so they'd probably want good young talent and picks if they are going to move him.

I'd like Sharp to be targeted. Very good winger offensively and defensively who can also play center.

That better be a big plus added in though.

When Chicago traded Ladd, Versteeg, Buff they received picks in return for each of them. Sharp is worth more then any of these guys. A first or top prospect with a cheap contract like a Kadri/Gardiner would have to be the centerpiece.

Hjalmarsson would be someone I wouldn't mind getting from chicago. The kind of defensemen we need, and could make some of our d prospects more available for that elusive #1 center.

In saying that, it's fairly clear that Hall is untouchable. The best player we can pull out of Edmonton right now is MPS in my opinion, and they'd need to add at least their 1st and another prospect to get Phaneuf.

His defensive coverage still isn't there imo, he's too inconsistent, but I like his potential.

Yeah I still don't like the contract extension, he hasn't looked good since coming back from concussion, I hope it doesn't come back to bite us. We could always stick him on ltir right?

I agree, and it's a shame because he was one of their best d in the first half. He looked terrible after the conky.

They still wont move him IMO.

I'd hope we can rob some of their kids though like Danault...freaking love him, such a boss.

I think they will try to hold on to their prospects since their contracts are cheap. Maybe if McNeill and Danault are looking good for them we can get Bolland from them.

I'd love a 3rd line of Kulemin-Bolland-Frattin

Agreed I think in their position that certainly is the logical move. They also have Kruger right. They kept frolik too? Few options to move around.

They are already past the cap and won't have a goalie signed and Alzner an RFA.

They'll probably have to let Ribierio walk unless they make some trades. They have to sign Johansson as well.
