Since Nonis has been very transparent about tanking this year, are there even any trades we want to make?

Besides selling like...Lombardi for picks or something.

Getting a good pick in this year's draft sets up this franchise for a long time. There won't be very many drafts with this much centre depth at this calibre..

This, and if we could somehow acquire another top 10 pick we could address a secondary hole in the lineup.

Ristolainen if the pick is high enough would be an excellent addition.

This.

Oh boy. Lets see if he can repeat that performance, I don't think he will be able to offensively tbh.

55 isn't even high, we're acting like he's going to keep improving and becoming a 70-80 pt scorer. This is where he'll stay, around 50-60, which is as much as Grabovski.

He's only 21. You actually think he's plateaued already?

Thing is, I actually doubt he reaches 55 anytime soon again.

He's great defensively, decent/good offensively. I wouldn't want him anywhere near our top line. 2nd line I would love him, but as you said, we have Grabs

Offensively, yea I think so tbh.

Could prove me wrong

I think it's a bit of a struggle when it comes to developing in the big leagues. Most players take a step back.. However, I think a lot of it comes from how hard he works defensively with his team. In Colorado they roll three lines constantly.. as long as he produces at a decent pace he's fine and so is Colorado.

For the third time in the last few pages, I will write the same message:

ROR put up those numbers with an ABYSMAL SH% and a high % of defensive zone starts. That, plus being 21, is absolutely insane. He is only going up from here.

Yea I agree. He's great defensively and at worse he is the perfect centre behind Duchene and Stastny

Duchene had a brutal season with injuries. When Duchene gets back to his old self and healthy he will be above RoR on the stat sheet.

With that said, he is great defensively, I don't see that going away, only improving.

I don't get what that has to do with how good ROR is? If anything, it means that he would flourish more here with an increased role and offensive zone starts.

I'm talking about him in Colorado

Yes, if he played with Kess and Lupes his points will go up a lot.

I think that's exactly the type of center we need between lupul and kessel, someone who can handle the defensive responsibilities of the top line and also keep up offensively. Plus he's young so he can grow with the team.
