Speculation: 12/13' Trades/Proposals: Short season is better than none, now for trades.

If Nonis makes that trade i might stop watching the Leafs

That will honestly be the worst trade EVER and if the board and Nonis push that through.... I will freak!
 
Between the lockout, and Burke being canned, I'm already at my wits end .. If Nonis gets bullied into some horse**** deal like the garbage McGowan said I might jump ship, not only on the Leafs, but on the NHL altogether

I totally agree with the posters above. If Burke was fired because he didn't want to overpay for a 33 year old goalie signed for ten years then I have no faith in this team, I'm jumping ship. Never to anotherNHL team, but too a whole new league. Probably OHL.

Here's hoping Nonis learned a thing or twofrom Burke.
 
Scared Gillis will raise the price now if not getting Lu was actually a big reason why Burke was fired

i cant think of a single time in my lifetime that the leafs have traded a top prospect for a veteran and it worked out in favour for the leafs.

i could handle moving kadri in a trade but i will flip my **** if gardiner is moved.

out defense without gardiner is pretty rough, even with him. i dont see how we can move out a ppqb and puck moving defenseman in general.

Dreger just brought up Kadri + Bozak + 2nd. Did he say it was a deal? no. Said it was the rumour but the way he said it was odd for him.

Also Nonis said the can't discuss pending trades in the Press Conferance. Could have just been nervous or not fully thinking but it also could be that a deal is in place.

I was just showing you that we would have to deal with cap penalties

I'm one of the Leafs fans that wants him. I just don't want us to pay a ridiculous price.

this is why Vancouver isnt dealing from a position of power here. they arent going to get a kadri+ gards and a first round pick type deal. the deal should be more like a player and a pick like a bozak and a 2nd or maybe a salary type deal. Gillis isnt going to cash in . and any GM who makes the "rumored" deal type is an idiot. And this isnt why burke was fired. something else is going on in leafland.

Agreed, dont know enough of what is going on in Burke's personal life, and frankly don't care, but it apears the board weren't comfortable with it or his attitude.

It may be naive to think, but I really hope that a dissagreement on the Luongo deal led to this. If it is, this team is in a lot of trouble. I can't see Nonis taking a job his mentor leves behind to be a puppet for MLSE.

The deal will be really interesting to see since there are so many more variables in it other than just bodies. With contract values being allowed to be shared this trade will be much more difficult than my simple mind to create.

Don't believe a word of Gardiner or a 1st being involved, no chance. Wouldnt be shocked if Kadri is. Don't think they are pleased with his attitude.

I do agree though with what duthie was saying earlier that maybe nonis and burke didnt agree on the issue of wanting to get Lu that nonis wanted to get him and burke was hesitant, but i really dont think it was a reason for his firing. I honestly agree with Dregs on this that it had more to do with how he conducts his business and how raw he is to the public. and i think when the new ownership came in and they asked him to tone it down or change things and i think they butted heads and started a sour relationship. and i think this week something happened that either burke said screw this or whatever and that was that.
