I personally don't understand the obsession with the "Big 3" in Anaheim. If you haven't noticed, even while playing together, they haven't really been that great recently, with the exception of Perry racking up the points two years ago. If we are going to blow big assets, I would rather get someone with upside, rather than guys who are on the plateau of their careers. Players like Evander Kane or Jeff Skinner are way more appealing to me. Plus, why would you want to re-unite a group of players with a coach that just got fired from coaching them. It obviously didn't work there, why would you think it would work here?
Speculation: 12/13' Trades/Proposals: Short season is better than none, now for trades.

I'd trade Kessel straight up for Benn or Kane.
Those deals are pretty ridiculous, especially Dallas and Winnipeg deals.

Kane scores, hits, fights, skates well. Kessel is probably a better scorer and skater, but is soft as ****. I'd be so happy if we made that trade. Huge Kane fan.
I don't mind his attitude, I just think Phil is a better/more talented hockey player.
Kane+ I would consider.
But no way would I do it straight, plus Kessel and Lupul already have great chemistry so I'm taking that into account

Kessel might be slightly better now, but he is 4 years older. Kane is already really good so imagine how much better he could be by 25.

Yeah Kessel is probably a better scorer, but I still prefer Kane's overall game.

I've admitted in the past I'm not a huge fan of Kessel. I know he is an extremely talented player, but he's far too soft for my liking.

I like kane but their game deteriorates a lot quickly hence i'd be worried, plus I question his attitude a bit as much as I favor him.

If Luongu is any indication to Burke getting canned, then things are definitely going to more and more shocking over the next couple of days and these couple of days as well as this season could give us a huge indication of where this club is indeed going.
If the price was too high and Burke wasn't willing to pay the price, I believe anything could be in the air and desperate measure maybe needed now that new management is in place. I think no one is safe on the roster nor the entire system for that matter.
