Speculation: 12/13' Trades/Proposals: Short season is better than none, now for trades.

Can anyone else confirm if this was said on TSN radio? If not then lock this baby up. We're seeing a bunch of these made up rumors lately.

From the Ducks standpoint letting there big 3 go is not all bad THIS year IMHO.

Lets say internally they decide it's time to move on and they put all 3 on the market. At the least they are going to get for each is a top prospect and a 1st.

That would give them 4 picks in the first round this year

3 TOP PROSPECTS potential = to Rielly

Moving forward with the 4 picks, 3 elite prospects, Fowler, Linholm, Etem, Rakell and Gibson.

I'd say thats a pretty darn good looking future considering this draft is hyped to be the best since 03' and the top prospects they would easily get in return.

Also this new CBA favors teams with their RFA's so they will be able to keep that young core for a long time.

Hmm... That sounds like a good plan, maybe we should consider buying into a plan like that.

Even if we gave up rielly kadri frattin a 2nd and a 1st for Bobby Lou and Ryan I think most fans would be happy and the leafs would have a better chance of Landing other fa's as they would be a desirable location

What?? I'm not even sold I'd give Kadri for Lou straight up! I think Lou is too long term for what we need. Let Florida have him and we'll take Theodore and see what Reimer/Scrivens can do. If you bring in Lou your basically writing off Reimer and Scrivens.

Now def Kadri in a deal for Ryan as that would be huge! Kadri + Colborne + 1st + 2nd. I can live with that!

Seriously believe you are going to get 3 players equal to Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan all in the same draft by dealing your players to teams that will potentially be in the playoffs?

How about we do it this way instead.

Gardiner and a 1st. in 2014 for Perry
Rielly and a 1st. in 2013 for Getzlaf
Kadri, Frattin and Biggs for Ryan

That way the Ducks have a chance of getting the same talent, and they are reasonable trades.

I don't think Ryan would have any choice in the matter, but Getzlaf and Perry are UFA at end of season.

If they were moving anyone it would be the players who are unwilling to extend. They own Ryan for the next 3 seasons (2 after this one).

Ducks aren't trading those 3 guaranteed top line players for the hope they can recoup them, especially when they only own one of them beyond this year.

And the cost to acquire them would be huge, even though 2 would just be rentals.
