Is that Ma$e from the Biggie days? Couldn't stand that monotone mofo lol. I have no idea who the other two are, but good for them all to show out for a local kid.

Yes! Jadakiss was on a lot of the same tracks. He was in the LOX. They were on "Last Day" from Life After Death, "It's All About the Benjamins", and a bunch of other stuff you'd know if you heard.

Cam'ron you probably know either "Horse and Carriage" or "Oh Boy".

Ok. Starting to remember LOX and Jadakiss does sound familiar. Probably remember the name from reading the fold out in the front of the CD case. Definitely have no clue about the last guy though. Probably missed him by a few years or just know the song, not the artist. Cheers bud

We’re in the process of buying a car, and my wife refuses to listen to me. I’m trying to get her to get the guy to toss his stapler into the deal as a stipulation for the guy to make the sale.
My wife is a terrible negotiator.

I would also refuse to listen to you as soon as hearing the word ''stapler''. Or in fact, hearing the phrase ''listen to me''.

Unrelated: Russia and Belarus banned from IIHF tournaments for another year. Good.

Edit: I intentionally put ''unrelated'' so that you wouldn't think I am comparing your marriage to an actual genocidal conflict

3rd world stuff

When you get news that your water supply may be unsafe and its because of a flyers hockey board ;)

They can reverse call and do all this other bullshit for city councilman 'virtual town halls'. Nobody calling and being like "Hey, ya'll might wanna not drink/cook with your tap water"

Decided at the last minute to jump into a Fantasy league on Friday night. As per usual, I don't know anyone in this league. I found out it was a different setup: No MI, CI, 4th-5th OF, or 8th-9th P. Also, it's a 5x6 league because Holds are a category. I was drafting first, which we all know is one of the worst positions, so Rounds 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, etc. are consecutive picks. I didn't see any auto-picks amongst the other owners, which I think is good, although I have been in secondary (for me) leagues where I let the computer auto-pick my team as a challenge for me to test my abilities as a team manager.

C Will Smith, LAD (DJ Jazzy Jeff went in the 11th)
1B Jose Abreu, HOU
2B Ozzie Albies, ATL
SS Trea Turner. PHI
3B Austin Riley, ATL
OF Mike Trout, CAA
OF Luis Robert, CHW
OF Giancarlo Stanton, NYY
UTIL Anthony Volpe, NYY
OF Garrett Mitchell, MIL (Bench)
IR Bryce Harper, PHI

SP Zac Gallen, ARI
SP George Kirby, SEA
SP Hunter Greene, CIN
SP Blake Snell, SDP
SP Nick Lodolo, CIN
RP Paul Sewald, SEA
RP Craig Kimbrel, PHI
SP/RP Jeffery Springs, TBR (Bench)
SP Luis Garcia, HOU (Bench)

Draft Order:

1 - Trea Turner, SS
2 - Austin Riley, 3B
3 - Mike Trout, OF
4 - Ozzie Albies, 2B (Typical of my strategy is to get 2B, SS, and 3B in the first five rounds)
5 - Luis Robert, OF
6 - Zac Gallen, SP (Also typical is not taking a Pitcher in the first three rounds - ideally not the first five)
7 - Will Smith, C (Drafting a C this high was not ideal, but the value separation was not apparent elsewhere)
8 - George Kirby, SP
9 - Jose Abreu, 1B
10 - Hunter Greene, SP
11 - Blake Snell, SP
12 - Bryce Harper, DH (This is what happens when others adhere to ADP. He was listed much lower)
13 - Nick Lodolo, SP
14 - Jeffery Springs, SP
15 - Giancarlo Stanton, OF (Really? Round 15?)
16 - Luis Garcia, SP
17 - Paul Sewald, RP
18 - Craig Kimbrel, RP
19 - Anthony Volpe, SS

FA - Garrett Mitchell, OF, moving Harper to IR

I really don't know much about some of my Pitchers, so I went with the tried/true metric of volume of Ks, especially if projections had them at 9+K/9.0. I try to avoid junkballers, if I can. Seeing Harper still being available in Round 12/13 (these were consecutive picks) reminded me these are good "stash" rounds for injured players who can still give you 3/4 of a season of high production. Jose Altuve, Joe Musgrove, Adalberto Mondesi, and Tyler Glasnow all fall into this category, as well.

hayden wesneski probably isnt available anymore but if he is you should grab him. in a holds league you can probably get more exciting RPs that offer more ratio/K upside than those guys. looks like a solid team though

Good advice. However, Wesneski just locked down the fifth starter role for the Cubs, and with Hendricks being on the shelf until May, he'll most likely be cemented in as a starter this year - at least for the first third of the season. I don't see him in a middle reliever role unless he stumbles. I can see swapping out Sewald for a middle reliever or setup guy, but I'm going to wait and see until May when roles get more solidified before making such a move.

I know I wasnt clear, but I was suggesting Wesneski as a starter. Big time sleeper.

He's still available in my league. One of the things I do not like in this 10-team league is the trimming of the position slots, which leaves a whole bunch of productive/potential-productive players as free agents. It's not that I don't appreciate being able to snag a Rowdy Tellez or Adalberto Mondesi should injury merit such a transaction, but, as a team manager, it's more rewarding to sift through the detritus mid-season to find those yearly gems whose performance this year makes them single-digit round selections next year.

Yes your league is much shallower than mine

I thought I could get him around there in my league but he went 15th! Was super bummed. My league is pretty odd though.
That's my problem. I'll watch the Phillies and go to games, but other than that, I pay very little attention to anything else baseball. When it comes time to draft each year, I pretty much have no idea what I am doing lol. It's a league of family and friends, so I feel bad dropping out and they don't want me to drop out because Im just a donation each year.

I've posted my drafting strategy here and my real-time strategy for this league above. I'd be interested in hearing your strategy for this year's draft.
I play in a 12 team keeper league with a farm system. My strategy is much different out of necessity. Because we keep 10 players and sometimes some farm players the draft strategies vary. My strategy on draft day is get talent. You can find guys on waivers, especially hitters in my league, but the young guys with talent that are worth keeping are prime assets. More boom or bust. Half my league makes the playoffs so I use the entire season to get ready for the playoffs (h2h 6x6 category scoring)
